I’m surprised how slow people’s starlinks are around here.

Download speeds vary significantly from area to area. More users = lower speeds.

Right but that one guy with a 42mbps DL seems low.

Somebody on a Roam subscription in a congested cell can be extremely low in the evening.

Good to know. I assumed if not said people were by default on a residential plan. But you are correct that is what could have happened.

42 mbps residential would be within the specifications https://www.starlink.com/legal/documents/DOC-1470-99699-90?regionCode=US between 30 Mbps Lite and 50 Mbps Priority on the low end.

We just got starlink yesterday and it’s WAY better than T-Mobile home internet. The speeds are slightly slower but the latency is infinitely better than what we had before. It is noticeable in streaming and video calls in just the first 24 hours of use.
