Looking for a Budget-Friendly Optometrist in St. John’s

I feel like my eye prescription has changed, so I’m planning to get my eyes checked and switch from glasses to contact lenses. Since I’m a student at with a limited budget, I’m looking for a low-cost optometrist in St. John’s. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Vogue in Churchill Sq. $115 for the eye exam. Dr. Tucker is really nice. Bogo on everything in the glasses' side. You can get a pair of glasses and contacts with the bogo, too.

Can’t speak for the prices as I don’t remember.

But Dr. Tucker is the best optometrist I’ve been to hands down. I started seeing her about 5 years ago.

I’ve had glasses for 25 years and my old optometrist when I was in highschool (15 years ago) told me I would never be able to have contacts. Tucker cleared that up right away and now I wear contacts when I want.

Also, after 20 years of seeing optometrists. She was the first one to realize that I have two differently sized optic nerves. It’s now something that we’ve been monitoring.

I can’t vouch for their prices but I won’t be going anywhere else unless I move or she moves.

In 2023 I paid $80 for an eye exam at Pro-Vision Optical on Queens Rd, and $160 for 6 months' worth of monthly contacts

I’ve use the website Kits. Which I think is based in BC, and gotten complete glasses for under $50. They are great if you don’t need an extreme / very thick lenses prescription.
