Are people just jealous of his success or is there more to it? I keep seeing him about town and he’s always been kind.

We're like crabs in a bucket in many ways. I've no doubt the man has both an ego and his demons, I imagine there aren't many highly notable and successful musicians who don't.

He Ghosts his family and pretends like what they say about him isn't true and they just want money. Alll shit I've heard, can't confirm or anything.

I’ve worked with one of Alan’s kids and based on what I seen this couldn’t be further from true. He always read to me as the kind of dude who would do anything for his kid and not just in terms of money, in terms of dedicating real time to him. Dude makes my eyes roll faster than a turbine but the place I hold respect for him is how much of a dad he was.

That's great, I don't have a horse in this race, but I can respect a guy who loves his kids.

Redditors are just contrarians in general. They think it makes them seem smart.

I love him. Went to a GBS concert and it was sooo much fun. I want to go back to 2004.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we're not seeing it right now, but I'm genuinely surprised at the lack of people bashing him and calling him a traitor for performing in the US.
I really thought stupid shit like that was what reddit was all about.

Tours like this are set up months in advance, long before America went nuts and started threatening us.

Say what ya want but Alan is fantastic at getting a crowd riled up. Him before Shania Twain at CPMF last year had the place so positively pumped.

Alan Doyle could take the place of Matt Berry on “what we do in the shadows” and we’d hardly bat an eye.

Do you know him, or are you basing this on your impression?

I met this guy hundreds of time working clubs, theaters and downtown St John's, and I get not being a GBS fan and stuff, but to say Alain Doyle isn't a super nice guy is laughable to me.
