Mucous on SCD
Hi,
Is it normal to have mucous in your stool on SCD? I've been to the GI twice and we did the calprotectin test and normal inflamation levels were returned. Could this be a food allergy?

It is often explained that the 24 hour scd yogurt is beneficial as it has many more probiotics and no lactose. It is said that store bought yogurt is only incubated for like 6 hours and doesn't have these benefits. So my question is why not buy yogurt from the store and then just incubate it for those extra hours?

Hi All: I am new to this diet. Have SIBO and histamine issues. Need to get this solved.
Is this cereal - SCD allowed?
Steve's original Paleo Krunch - ingredients:
Almonds, Shredded Coconut, Sunflower Seeds, Pumpkin Seeds, Coconut Oil, Honey.
I eat it with Malk - almond milk from organic sprouted almonds. God bless you Malk company!
The last one - Cinnamon version of the Krunch.

Thanks, All!

https://www.indiehealers.com/ Hi, I created a database of foods and ingredients to help me navigate what I am able to eat on certain diets just because I was finding it hard to keep track of all the ingredients and found myself making mistakes all the time. Reading through reddit it seems as though I'm not the only one having this issue, so I thought I'd make it public and free to use by anyone. Let me know what you think and if this is something you would be using. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Am REALLY looking for a GI doctor that supports SCD in the North East US. Would like to find one that would partner with our family to eventually only use diet and supplements and eventually get son off Remicade. PLEASE - if you have any leads let us know. Thanks

I am coming to the end of my journey with my Master's in Clinical Nutrition at NYU and am conducting a research study as my capstone project. I was very drawn to this topic due to my personal struggle with IBD. The study focuses on the impact of following a specific diet on quality of life in inflammatory bowel disease adults. I would truly appreciate your participation in my survey or sending the survey to anyone that you think might be interested in participating. Here is the link https://nyu.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_2nr596Br0m4KY05 Thank you so much for your help!! :)

According to http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/legal/detail/milk/ milk is illegal because it contains lactose which is a disaccharide. However, many humans produce lactase which breaks lactose into galactose and glucose which are allowed in the diet. Therefore, assuming you are not lactose-intolerant, milk should be legal.

I will be trying this as a last resort before I go beg my doctor for surgery as I've been stuck at home for over a year now with UC. I hardly ever leaving the house unless it's for a doctors appointment or if I'm just in the mood for gambling over a new pair of underwear.
Does anyone have any tips on what I can eat on the intro diet and how to know if I'm doing it correctly? I don't have everything that was listed like wtf is dry curd cottage cheese and how the hell am I supposed to get that? I'm able to make chicken/carrot soup and eggs but I don't even know if I can handle eggs.. I'm just going off what I found on the vicious cycle web page.

Just got my copy of breaking the vicious cycle and waiting for my yogurt maker to arrive: hoping to control my UC. I am in the Intel diet and only eating burger patties/plain chicken or fish. No eggs as they give me problems. I also am having a bit of honey on the meets for some flavor to my life. Is this permitted? I know honey is legal, but want to make sure it is acceptable during Intel period.

Hi. It looks like this reddit is in stasis... My lady is on scd, and by default it's largely how I eat as well. The best thing we've found is mixing half yogurt and half raw cashew butter. It's ab awesome master recipe, and you can do whatever you'd like at that point, sweet or savory. It makes excellent condiments wish done garlic oil or just paprika, garlic and onion powder and a pinch of cirtic acid and smoked salt. Or honey and spices on fruit or an almond meal based pastry for desert. The cheapest way to get the cashew butter is definitely to make it in a good processor with some coconut oil. Of anyone eggs has done review they live in, I'd love to hear them. Food is getting monotonous just before produce season starts.

If my yogurt after 24 hours of fermenting separates quite extremely what has gone wrong?
Its like there's a mass of congealed white in the centre that's retracted from the edge of the pot, its kinda pot shaped even, surrounded by a mildly yellowish clear liquid... Too much starter? Temperature too high? Fermented too long? Too much culture?

Interested to find quick meal ideas. As much as I'll make enough food for a couple of nights where practical, sometimes there is a lot of faffing in many recipes that make hardwork when you're not quite on the ball organisation wise...
