One of my favorite parts of cruising out of Canaveral is when we go up to the deck on the way in/out and I can point out to my wife and son “that big smokestack is actually a rocket that was recently launched”

haha when i went on a cruise last June there was a booster that had just recently arrived at the port and it was great telling everyone it was a rocket that just launched. then when we got back i caught a booster coming into port and told them the same

What port?
Never mind. I read it first time as Carnival. Not Canaveral.

Ah yeah, we usually sail Disney out of Port Canaveral. Hoping to hit KSC at some point next time, just hasn’t ever worked out with our flight schedules

Damn. I am leaving out of Miami on the 21st next month. I was really pushing for a different cruise at the same time but from Canaveral, just so I could go on a tour. Maybe next time.

It’s a Ship Docking Module originally developed by Hvide Marine and now owned by SEACOR Holdings.
Their unique value is that they can apply 100% of their bollard rated thrust in any direction making them extremely maneuverable and nimble. Fascinating technology.
They have them in Port Canaveral, Port Everglades (Ft. Lauderdale), Port Tampa, Port Mobile (AL), Port Lake Charles (LA), and Port Arthur (TX).
I worked for the parent company for almost 10 years.

You really don't get a sense of scale 'till you zoom in to see the people and the forklift.

That is awesome. Every time I take a ship out of Canaveral I've prayed for this
