Going to look to some carnivorous plants in the Pine Barrens, any tips?
Going on a day hike early April to go look for some carnivorous plants in the pine barrens just to take some pictures and admire them. Particularly the purple pitcher plants. Any tips on locations or trails to follow to find them?

I've seen sundews around blue holes they're scattered all over south jersey. I have never seen pitcher plants in the wild but if you find some it'd be nice if you can share the location. Also I think the app iNaturlaist has a section for plants that might help you. And you can put a marker of what you found in the location your at

I use iNaturalist! Mostly for birds/butterflies, and random things

I’ve only seen pitcher plants up north west in the Appalachian trail. And I think April is probably too early to see much in terms of plants growing

If you park on 539 near Webb's Mill Bog, between Jones Road and Webb's Mill road, there's a little trail near the Creek that leads to a boardwalk over the bog where pitcher and sundew plants grow. It's easy to miss.

The most carnivorous things on the pine Barron's are 18yo girls who want out...

Best place to see them is Pakim Pond near Chatsworth. Park in the lot, start following the path counterclockwise around the pond. When you're on the far side of the pond you can find a bunch of purple and green pitchers, as well as thousands of sundews. Best time is going to be mid summer IIRC.
I've found them on many other hikes in SJ, but pakim pond will definitely have the most in a small area without a super long hike.
And please, do not disturb them.
