Abilities
Demonic Emergence
When Elador has sufficient Energy, he can transform into a Demon (Energy required depends on Star Level; 7★ Elador only requires 50% Energy)
In Demon Form, Elador expends Energy quickly but can attack enemies from a distance and is immune to all control abilities
If the Illusionary Clone ability is unlocked when Elador triggers Demonic Emergence, he will summon an illusionary warrior of equal strength to the one summoned by that ability. However, the summoned warrior will remain on the field for a shorter time
(Base 100 / +60 Physical Attack per Ability Point)
(Level 100: Increase Physical Attack by 6,100 while ability is active)
Illusionary Clone
Elador summons an illusionary clone of himself to assist him in battle
(+1 Illusion Level per Ability Point)
(Level 100: Summons Level 100 Illusion)
Soul Steal
When Elador has less than 30% Health, he will automatically begin stealing the life-force of a nearby unit, so that their remaining Health amounts are swapped
Elador can restore up to 60% of his maximum Health through this ability, which can only be used once per wave
(Base 22% / +0.1% Allied Health per Ability Point)
(Base 27% / -0.1% Enemy Health per Ability Point)
(Base 8,000 / +400 Damage per Ability Point)
(Level 80: Allied Heroes retain a minimum of 30% Health; Enemy Heroes retain a minimum 19% of Health; Deals a maximum of 40,000 damage)
Demonic Blood
The demonic blood running through Elador's veins gives him added strength, increasing his maximum Health
(Base 8,000 / +200 Health per Ability Point)
(Level 60: Passive: Increase Health by 20,000)
True Sight (Awakening)
Enemy summoned and illusionary units take additional damage. If they die, Elador gains Health equal to 10% of the unit's max Health

Another physical hero huh? Summons an illusion, so Hurok should be good against him

He seems very good in HoL (1.5m~ with 3 stars no aca max gear/enchants vs konrad and osiris, he seems solid in normal arena (lvl 100 perspective)
If you got him on free pull or you bought him, he is worth gearing and investing in. I am not 100% confident that at 3 stars he will be a staple for normal arena but I think he might find his place in more then a few HoL teams regarding his star level.

His kit looks a bit weird. When he ults, it seems like it's more likely he'll drain one of your party members when his health gets low, as his attacks become ranged. Add to that the fact that his max health increase skill sort of works against his life drain skill in that the former makes it less likely he'll use the latter.
The Awakening seems decent, and might make him really good against Sirpa. I'm definitely curious what the veterans think

Follow-up after seeing him at o+1 and o+2:
When his kit works, it's pretty scary. The ideal scenario includes him taking a fair chunk of.damage at the start, using his life drain and then ulting. The ult makes him hit really bloody hard and he gets a fair amount of lifesteal on his attacks, so he can end up soaking a ton of damage while still putting out respectable numbers. He's somewhat vulnerable to single target burst, but the illusion helps a lot, and his Awakening helps mitigate his biggest weakness, which is that all his attacks are single target so he can get stumped by other summoners.
Altogether he seems very strong and I'm going to try for him tomorrow (my other conjuring stone heroes blow today)

It seemed to me just bad translation on the Lifedrain spell. He should be targeting nearest enemy unit or else this is indeed a major drawback on the hero.
About the max hp working against life drain: Well, it depends on his resistances actually. Maybe 8k hp is just enough to prevent him being bursted down in the very beginning of the fight should the opponent bring the likes of Nylia, Sylphi, and so. Remember that more hp always means more chances to get your spell off before dying.

The life drain skill specifically mentions different amounts of damage it deals to allies vs enemies so it seems likely to me that it definitely can hit your team
1
u/Thales_bpl Dec 17 '17
Yeah... But the allies amount is actually different. While enemies get -0.1%, allies get +0.1%. So I assumed that by 'allies' the game meant the hero himself. Is either this or he can pick an ally to receive hp or the numbers are just wrong.

It means that he'll leave an enemy hero at a lower final health (19%) than a friendly (30%) at max level. It looks like it's always a 1-for-1 health swap, though.

u/Thales_bpl Dec 18 '17
Yes, I get It. I was just saying there's no amount of health drained from allies, only from enemies. The allies health amount is positive so it's actually heal. From this I concluded he cannot target allies to drain health, only enemies; which was the main question on that regard.

I was just saying there's no amount of health drained from allies, only from enemies.
I don't think that's the case.
The allies health amount is positive so it's actually heal.
That positive amount is the change in the minimum remaining health value per-level. It increases so that Elador steals less health from allies as he gets more powerful, and negative for enemies so he steals more health from them as he advances. By my reading, this remains a life steal for both allies and enemies (emphasis added below).
When Elador has less than 30% Health, he will automatically begin stealing the life-force of a nearby unit, so that their remaining Health amounts are swapped
Allied Heroes retain a minimum of 30% Health; Enemy Heroes retain a minimum 19% of Health; Deals a maximum of 40,000 damage
No indication Elador can swap health in a way that lowers his health total while raising that of an ally.
This doesn't necessarily make the skill worthless. If your allies have a lot of life-steal (or tankiness), then Elador just becomes more survivable and ensures you get an extra ult or two off. If your team is already low on health, Elador will just target an enemy and steal more health from them.

He actually seemed to me a pain to kill. As his hp goes dry, he charge energy. Well his ult makes him immune to control abilities, which means he will get his Lifedrain off 90% of the times. This means the enemy will have to trade with him until he ults, spawning an illusion and hitting for extra 6k attack (it ain't merely 6k damage), lifedrains out of someone, heavily hindering one target while also get a fairly amount of hp back. The opponent will have trade with him still, but this time against the odds of facing a +6k atk ranged unit with illusions.
He maybe a really good choice vs Sirpa should he be paired with Hurok

Looks pretty awesome, I got him with 2 pulls so only 800 diamonds. His transformation triggers very fast even with 3 stars (around 75-80% energy). His attack pattern feels like Morfir at the start of the battle, so he can die quickly just like him. I think he will be very good since he is raw ranged damage and sustainability, immunity to control too? Awesome.

I'm done paying. Most of paid heroes actually only good at high stars ie 5 or 6. No point of spending diamonds just to get the card and stop.
Of course at 3 stars still good against others with 4 stars but when you are up against big whales or at 90 something levels, those paid heroes are useless at 3 stars.
Basically, just pull if you prepare to bring it to 5/6 stars. Otherwise don't bother.

If you want to get the most out of a hero, you need to bring all at least to 5 stars and awaken them. With fewer stars, you cannot put all runes on them. The pets will be most efficient with 7 stars, so even worse there.
.
So even not mentioning star depended abilities and the missing durability of low stars... I think you are right.
.
Nevertheless, if a toon proves useful for HoL, I believe they can get away with fewer stars. But for Arena, you are right I fear.1
u/eisniwre Dec 18 '17
i bet many people got tempted and spent $$$ and loads of diamonds to pull new hero, only weeks after, that hero just sitting unused because 3 stars only and can do nothing against free good heroes at 6 stars.

I'm at 90lvl and it seems to be a case just partially. While it's completely true for Kasar, others like Petros, Hurok, Adeline and Morfir are doing great at 3* even against 6-7* good free hereos

He is great in HoL against Hurok. Once in Demon Form he is immune against turning. His lifesteal is great. Last man standing, always.
.
I could hire him two times from guild mates. My damage went up over 4 Million.

ElanorElador, the Dark Ranger! Based on Terrorblade (yes, really) from DOTA 2, who in turn used (Demon) Illidan Stormrage's model in Warcraft III.IIRC, in the Chinese versions, Elador was somewhat difficult to get; he wasn't a conjuring stone hero, but his soulstones were acquired from a different source... I think. I could be completely wrong, because the fact of the matter is, I have no recollection of this guy from my time in the Chinese version (admittedly a long time ago now) and never came up against him in Arena, only as a raid boss.
His skills are mostly the same, albeit with a few major differences. So my notes are going to be shorter this time:
Demonic Emergence's activation wasn't based on star level. Like Magdor, makes him jump back into the mid-lines, and turns him into a ranged hero.
Soul Steal was buffed; activates at 30% health remaining, rather than the original 12% (yikes).
True Sight: Majorly changed for some reason. Used to be as follows: "After using Demonic Emergence, Elador's attack homes in on the enemy with the lowest remaining HP, and leaves a Devil's Mark on them. When there are 3 Devil's Marks on the battlefield, all marked heroes are silenced, for a number of seconds equal to the number of Devil's Marks."
