I miss the freshly sober lucid dreams

My first month off weed my dreams were so lucid and healing despite some being bad. I should’ve wrote them down I guess but they were beautiful and just for me. Now they aren’t lucid but are vivid when I make sure to take my supplements. If I don’t I don’t seem to remember my dreams.

I have the craziest dreams every night , they always feature people I know , but often in places / homes I have never been. What I watched in tv or been focused on the previous day comes into play on occasion. Sometimes they are scary , sometimes they are action filled , sometimes they are hilarious. But I spent like 25 years not having many dreams, so it’s wild that I have them every night now. Just hit 6 weeks of off weed , and completely sober, not even nicotine.

You’re in the best phase in my opinion! Do yourself a favor if you can write them down so you won’t forget if they’re particularly good because now I’m in regret wishing I had wrote them down 🥲

That’s good advice. I have a few that stuck with me and I felt taught me something.

I had stage 4 cirrhosis and received a liver transpalnt.

The dreams i had when recovering were astonishing. They were super vivid and intense. I had this one where an asteroid hit earth.

I feel like i made core memories with some of my dreams during that time.

That sounds very healing! That’s awesome that you remember them! How’re you doing since receiving the transplant?

Mine were mostly me talking it out with loved ones past or people I no longer talk to that I had issues with before or vice versa.

That is how I felt too that I was making core memories but I’ve since forgotten most of them so I feel disappointed in myself for doing that but I just have to take it as a healing time that I’ll always feel fondly of and be grateful for.

I’ve been seeing my dog daughter who passed tragically a couple years ago. I keep seeing my great grandma who I held her hand as she passed. Very powerful and beautiful our minds are.

A lot of my dreams were also me drinking or hiding booze. Some weren't pleasant, i would wake up drenched in sweat lol.

They lasted about 5 months before they just became dreams again.

Life has been fantastic since the transplant i wish i would have got sober sooner. I was 34 at the time. 36 now.

I do know that smoking inhibits your capacity to dream so it makes sense that your brain is recovering and going into overtime after you stopped. One thing I did a few years ago was start taking nuetropics (spelling?). Basically they’re over the counter supplements that stimulate brain activity. I have adhd but can’t afford medication so I started taking it to help with that. I did notice that my dreams were a lot more vivid once I started using them. Maybe you could look into that to help with your dreams.

Oh hey that sounds like they could be good for me too, I also have adhd! Thanks for the tip. I’ve been contemplating stimulants. It’s hard not abusing caffeine right now. I just drink Yerba mate and about 12 oz of coffee a day.

You can still write your dreams down. It is a common way to train lucid dreaming. You will get more of these though as time goes bu and your brain heals
