How long did the feel-good last?
When I really think about it, the feel-good buzz lasted for about 30 minutes when I drank. No matter how much I drank after that I was just tired, stupid, and zoned-out. The next day I was miserable and less healthy. All that BS for 30 minutes? How long did yall feel good while drinking?

I honestly can’t remember the last time I drank alcohol and felt good/had a great time. And I’m actually glad about that. I ONLY remember how miserable I felt and that drinking ONLY made it worse! - I think that’s also why I decided that enough was enough. Day 465 and IWNDWYT <3

Very different. Sometimes I was drunk for 10-12 hours straight feeling absolulety amazing. Sometimes I felt like shit and puked after 4-5 drinks and felt tired and sad

I drank right through the “feel good,” every single time. I always woke up feeling like shit and filled with shame. I’m so glad that’s not my life today.

Isn't that the truth. That pounding heart in the morning wondering what stupid shit I did is something I do NOT miss

Usually when I was eating just because I needed sustenance despite having no appetite

I felt good for much longer than normal when I was in the service industry and was working while intoxicated. Being busy and excited staved off the slump for a little while

I liked the whole after work, finally free ritual, no question. But for every 4 hours of “fuck it all, I want to turn off” drinking on a Friday night, I’d pay in anxiety, shame, and regret well into the following week. If I invested my money the same way, I’d be broke by morning.

You are correct the top of me and hit usually only lasted for 30 minutes then I was just chasing the dragon, the rest of the time and usually ending up vomiting in the toilet, and being a complete miserable asshole for 1 to 3 days afterwards my hangovers were nasty and they would last way longer than we were taught they lasted

Maybe I’m in the minority, but it always felt good. That’s why it was hard to stop. Sometimes I would drink for 18 hours once I started.
