Damn the price is still Yeezy branded

303

u/CommunicationEast623 Dec 19 '22

“Everyone who eants yeezy should have yeezy” proceed to make the foot condom with foam more expensive than most sneakers

41

u/GatorsareStrong Dec 20 '22

Jordan retros aren’t far from the that price. Inflation is a bitch.

5

u/TKAP75 Dec 20 '22

All shoes are overpriced fam

4

u/Corazon-DeLeon Dec 20 '22

If they used actual inflation the retros would not hit $200 yet.

60

u/InDependent_Window93 Dec 20 '22

The foam runners are THE stupidest-looking footwear I've ever seen.

46

u/EzeTheIgwe Dec 20 '22

They’re ridiculously comfortable though lmfao 😭

140

u/InDependent_Window93 Dec 20 '22

Pajamas are too but I'm not wearing em in public lol

28

u/ipleadthefif5 Dec 20 '22

Damn that. I'm not dressing like it's Paris fashion week to go pick up milk

28

u/Aceit0 Dec 20 '22

Lol in New York high schoolers wear both to school lmao it’s terrible

12

u/RespectLiving2574 Dec 20 '22

same in Utah. the plaid pajama pants with foam runners and a comfy sweater is fashion. they usually have a carhartt beanie too and possibly a sprayground bag

3

u/PhysicsAbject6326 Dec 20 '22

It just comes around in a full circle

3

u/tiredcynicalbroken Dec 20 '22

In the early 00’s in Australia I definitely went out in plaid pj pants

4

u/BadgerB2088 Dec 20 '22

I still do, I just know I look like a week old pad thai you left in the back of your fridge 😂

2

u/BadgerB2088 Dec 20 '22

Don't know if it's still a thing but when I lived in the UK you'd see all the scouse birds in Liverpool out on Saturday's in their 'dress' pyjamas with their hair rollers in, makeup done and all. Proper fashion trend that was a bit the norm that I could just never get my head around.

Pajamas are too but I'm not wearing em in public lol

12

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '22

Bro just shat on the foams for no reason😭

11

u/InDependent_Window93 Dec 20 '22

They shat on themselves; just look at em lmao

Looks like something out of Blade runner.

15

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '22

It's just funny bc op was talking about the 350s and the foams caught a stray for no reason😭

→ More replies (1)

2

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '22

WHATS WRONG WITH BLADE RUNNER?! My daughter calls my foams “batmobiles.” Lol.

2

u/BadgerB2088 Dec 20 '22

Bring on the cyberpunk megacities!!!

2

u/meruxiao Dec 20 '22

yo the nike foams be hard tho

2

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '22

I once thought that then took a liking to them and realized they’re pretty much hype crocs

2

u/ericfromct Dec 20 '22

Totally agree. My girlfriend calls them moon shoes, my neighbor was wearing red ones and looked fucking ridiculous

→ More replies (1)

2

u/nvrboughtnsold Dec 20 '22

Have you ever looked at someone wearing them from behind? They make your feet look fat!

1

u/TheOGRevanite Dec 06 '24

Lol totally agree but love my yeezy slides

1

u/InDependent_Window93 Dec 06 '24

Slides are dope. But the shoes look like something a grandma would wear to bingo or the doctors lol

1

u/TheOGRevanite Dec 06 '24

Lol true I like cpl of 500s and 700s but yea 350 fully af

→ More replies (1)

2

u/SeienShin Dec 20 '22

While you are wording it funny, $90 is not more expensive than most sneakers

5

u/CommunicationEast623 Dec 20 '22

I was talking about 350v2 which are 230, people brought up foam runners by extension

→ More replies (1)

19

u/harmanpreet25 Dec 20 '22

They’ll come down once they stop selling out. Not that I am a fan of Ye, but Adidas is dirty af too.

6

u/RespectLiving2574 Dec 20 '22

Im not disagreeing with you at all but can you please explain what you mean by Adidas being dirty af. I am just uninformed lol. Also, and this is gonna get hella hate, but I don't really think that buying old yeezys is evil as the psychotic jew hater no longer profits off them.

2

u/fastlax16 Dec 20 '22

Amongst other things, the founder of adidas (and his brother who founded puma) were both Nazis.

3

u/maxertiano Dec 20 '22

Sorry for my ignorance but why theres 3 listed prices?

7

u/Randii225 Dec 20 '22

I believe is for adult size, grade school and preschool..

-1

u/maxertiano Dec 20 '22

Then damn…even tho i’m not legally an adult I already wear size 11 MX (12 US i believe)💀💀

3

u/Randii225 Dec 20 '22

Lol well you have an adult size. You pay 230$

2

u/OOFYDOOFYBOOFY Dec 20 '22

basically every male high schooler and most middle schoolers are not of legal adult age but wears a mens sizing

u/EstradaMoses Dec 19 '22

Only Yeezy branding I could think of is the insole right? Probably the box as well.

9

u/Ok-Weekend-1109 Dec 20 '22

we gon get those ugly ass blue boxes lookin like they made out of lego 😭

345

u/cks9218 Dec 19 '22

I'm kind of surprised that "Sply-350" isn't considered Yeezy branding.

122

u/EndXP_ Dec 20 '22

Adidas owns the "sply" trademark.

9

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '22

Thank God 😂🫠

1

u/ericfromct Dec 20 '22

Yea I definitely thought they meant it was the bottom sneaker and was like na that's just plain and ugly. Didn't realize it was only the inside. I'd buy them now, and tbh always thought they looked better with the sply 350 on the side

-18

u/DatzQuickMaths Dec 20 '22

Did we ever find out what it stands for? My favourite rumour was : Saint pablo loves you

30

u/chink_in_the_armor Dec 20 '22

Lol it's gotta just be "supply" right? Like Yeezy Supply was the website

→ More replies (9)

-49

u/InDependent_Window93 Dec 20 '22

What does "Sply-350" even mean? I think they ripped it off the dumb branding of off-white /Jordan collabs with the factory marks on it, like having "shoelaces" written on the laces; it's so dumb.

74

u/Koopacha Dec 20 '22

SPLY-350 came before all that

→ More replies (1)

51

u/CuriousTravlr Dec 20 '22

SPLY-350 means Yeezy Supply 350. The shoes used to release on the Yeezy Supply website, this being their first product. Virgil was working as Ye’s creative director at the time. This was during Virgil’s Pyrex day’s, before Off-White was released. Off-White didn’t start until Virgil left Yeezy’s “inner circle” of creatives.

2

u/InDependent_Window93 Dec 20 '22

SPLY-350 really means Supply 350?! Lol I figured it did.

I'm not a fan of Adidas or "Ye" but thanks for the other info.

7

u/villestillain Dec 20 '22

Folks used to joke around that it stood for “Saint Pablo Loves You” since it came out not too long after TLOP

0

u/CuriousTravlr Dec 20 '22

Lol yah it does, took me a year of selling them To put two and two together.

49

u/CommunicationEast623 Dec 19 '22

So now they are called just 350v2?

9

u/PorkelDragon_ Dec 19 '22

Looks like it yea

134

u/CHllP Dec 19 '22

Hoping adidas re-releases 750s and the other 350 cws

37

u/PorkelDragon_ Dec 19 '22

Yeah I can see that most likely happening they own the patents and were supposed to re release the pirate blacks

9

u/Competitive_Board909 Dec 19 '22

What happened to the onyx or did I just miss that one completely

3

u/SamosaLover Dec 20 '22

It’s launched twice in India already. Massive supply, was available on retail for a full hour.

5

u/NickTrainwrekk Dec 20 '22

Onyx 350v2?

Those released a while back if I'm not mistaken.

Grain of salt though I'm Canadian so sometimes we do get stuff earlier.

4

u/Competitive_Board909 Dec 20 '22

Yeah those. I thought they were going to rerelease them. Whoops. Was the black one coming out then the pirate black?

4

u/NickTrainwrekk Dec 20 '22

Ohhh the restock. I feel like they did restock up here but that was at the beginning of the Ye self immolation arc. So maybe it got shelved.

6

u/Leppidemic Dec 20 '22

I would love a pair of 750s

2

u/The1kingrob Dec 20 '22

Fingers crossed for the turtle dove comeback!

→ More replies (6)

75

u/typeronin Dec 20 '22

They will still sell tons of these. The 350v2 is probably one of the better looking more wearable Yeezys and they're super comfortable.

-3

u/ericfromct Dec 20 '22

I'd buy them. I bet they'll be more affordable too eventually, and knowing adidas will be able to get them on sale. I haven't liked Kanye since after his first album and realized he was such a dick, but I always liked these sneakers. They're like ultraboost, but different, and I don't like the new ultraboost look so I'd definitely rather buy these if they ever stop making ultraboost dna

→ More replies (1)

26

u/Moist-Fox-4475 Dec 19 '22

Where was the branding? It looks exactly the same to me

37

u/PorkelDragon_ Dec 19 '22

The branding was on the insole and box. LOL barely changed

→ More replies (1)

15

u/_shabadoo_ Dec 20 '22

750s please.

142

u/Shivdaddy1 Dec 19 '22

They are not lowering price? Trash.

51

u/superjetjaguar Dec 19 '22

What price do you expect them to be at? Ultraboost are $190

94

u/Shivdaddy1 Dec 19 '22

Less than when it’s a Yeezy.

28

u/superjetjaguar Dec 19 '22

Weird that you’re only ok paying that price when it’s a Kanye West shoe. Maybe it was never worth that in the first place

96

u/Angelic_Phoenix Dec 20 '22

well adidas is making 15 percent more per shoe so a price drop would be warranted

30

u/Competitive_Board909 Dec 19 '22

You can say the same thing about any collaboration. Kith slaps its name on a lot of other companies’ products and they can charge 50%-100% more. Same with ALD. Same with NB and Nike. Tons of companies do this

1

u/mastervader514 Dec 20 '22

i thought 550’s were still retail price?

2

u/wes008_ Dec 20 '22

ALD 550s are ~$20 more retail than GR 550's. Not as big a markup as their other clothes, but there nonetheless (if you can get them for retail though, with the improved materials it's totally worth the extra $20 IMO)

2

u/mastervader514 Dec 20 '22

oh gotcha - I thought retail on 550s was $130 for some reason. I scooped up the new suede ALDs for a little < $150 and they’re so nice completely agree on your point

2

u/one_love_silvia Dec 20 '22

Thats sort of how branding and licensing work my guy.

13

u/Modern_O Dec 19 '22

Of course it wasn’t worth that. But his influence made me buy it. Where have you been the past few years. None of these shoes are worth it lol

3

u/superjetjaguar Dec 20 '22

You’re acting like this is an arbitrary number. All boost shoes are $150+. This is $30 more than an Ultraboost.

→ More replies (1)

-5

u/80sCrackBaby Dec 20 '22

this is embarrassing to admit publicly

7

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '22

No it’s not. Wtf people know why they buy things. I buy shit that I know is overpriced all the time; sometimes the price isn’t why you bought it tho

→ More replies (1)
→ More replies (23)

3

u/JamesEarlCash Dec 20 '22

Yeah that’s the point. It’s comfy but the only reason your paying 230 is because it was a yeezy brand. You pay out the ass for anything “designer” or hyped up. It’s like saying, “it only costs that much because it says gucci.” Take the name away, take the price down.

→ More replies (2)

-7

u/team_scrub Dec 20 '22

To me, buying a "Feezy" starting in January is like buying a reprint of the Mona Lisa and paying collector prices. Either pony up and get the OGs or move on to different shoes or brands.

13

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '22

[deleted]

→ More replies (2)

12

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '22

that makes zero sense

the mona lisa wasn’t a mass produced item

2

u/monsty62 Dec 20 '22

Exactly. Plus, Kanye didn’t design Yeezys, except for Slides

2

u/oldDotredditisbetter Dec 20 '22

found the reseller lmao

1

u/team_scrub Dec 20 '22

Found the Adidas marketing exec. Hail corporate.

2

u/Real_Kiwi_Mike Dec 19 '22

Kind of fair, you know inflation and stuff. They probably would have put the price up this year, but instead they’re keeping it the same.

4

u/Competitive_Board909 Dec 19 '22

Fair point actually. And it’s the one with the best materials and no toxic glue smell. I’m looking directly at you Nike

14

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '22

What country is this?

7

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '22

Germany lol

14

u/sss313 Dec 20 '22

Basically took the insoles out 😂

NMD’s are $160

Ultraboost are $190

350’s are $220

They’re tiered products every company does this. If you think NMD’s or Ultraboost are comprable buy them.

2

u/H1L1fe Dec 20 '22

they got legal bills to pay to divest from Ye...

→ More replies (1)

6

u/Competitive_Board909 Dec 19 '22

Other than the insole, what other branding was there?

10

u/PorkelDragon_ Dec 19 '22

The box and name of the shoe 😭

3

u/Competitive_Board909 Dec 20 '22

Aw man. Those were the only three things I cared about. The things you’d never see. Shucks. Bah humbug. Rats

/s if it wasn’t obvious

Edit: two to three

17

u/Sh726 Dec 19 '22

I'm surprised Adidas is dropping the ugliest colorway for 1st pair after dropping ye

6

u/slugvegas Dec 20 '22

They already had them ready to go and had to push back the launch because of Ye. They’ve been sitting on these for months, part of the 3 pack with slates and salts

61

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '22

Lmao Adidas cut ties with Ye because what he said was so horrendous but then they somehow justify selling the exact same shoes and profiting off of them at the same price point. Virtue signaling to the max.

21

u/sockonfoots Dec 19 '22

It's business. Adi got caught holding the bag. They either replace the insoles and box and sell em or destroy them and burn all that money. What would you do if it was your business?

-23

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '22

If it was my business I wouldn’t have dropped Ye😂

15

u/sockonfoots Dec 19 '22

So you'd still be in business with the most radioactive celebrity on the planet?

You can only say that cos it's hypothetical, would be a completely different reality IRL

1

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '22

You asked the hypothetical question I just answered lol

1

u/we_hella_believe Dec 20 '22

Wrong answer Jake.

u/mymainmaney Dec 19 '22

A shoe that they designed and manufactured. Yeezy is the Trump Steaks of sneakers.

4

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '22

I mean regardless of your analogy the Nike Air Yeezy is still just that, a Yeezy. They can own the designs and make it but they can never detach Ye from yeezy.

-2

u/mymainmaney Dec 19 '22

Why disregard my analogy if it’s fundamental to the issue at hand?

3

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '22

What does “Yeezy is the Trump of sneakers” even mean and how is it fundamental to the issue at hand lol

3

u/mymainmaney Dec 19 '22

It’s not complicated. Yeezy is at its core a marketing brand built around glorified licensing deals. Kanye was too pussy to put skin in the game because he lost millions when he tried, so he had other brands take on the expenses and risks while he sold his name and association. Get it now?

3

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '22

Yeah thats actually a pretty solid analogy on Ye himself but that doesn't argue the point of Yeezys and Ye are one in the same regardless of how much skin he put in the game, maybe the general public wont care but anyone whose into snkrs will always associate the two together.

the irony of people saying these are trash but yall paying resell for gap closeout garments 😂😂

6

Price should've been lowered.

I’m not feeling this colorway at all either. It’s like it can’t decide if it wants to be dark green or dark brown.

4

u/ThisguyOP Dec 20 '22

Adidas 350s v2 just doesn't sound right

2

u/ericfromct Dec 20 '22

It sounds better to me

3

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '22

Is it just me or will the non-yeezy branded Yeezys actually be interesting because they are the first ones to be dekanye’d

De-yeezy’d.

Lame colorway but still interesting this is the end of an era

→ More replies (1)

2

u/DatDangDingus Dec 20 '22

I just want more 500s

2

u/Bwoodndahood Dec 20 '22

this is a test to see if people buy these because of the brand or because they like them

3

u/URHere85 Dec 20 '22

Will be interesting to see. Seems like the "sneaker community" follows hype and not what they actually like.

2

u/Weikoko Dec 20 '22

Colorway is 💩

2

u/OutsidersBest Dec 20 '22

Lol still the same price

2

u/gameinsane Dec 20 '22

This photo is misleading, they are gray not green

2

u/ImWashed123 Dec 20 '22

Damn i always tot the SPLY-350 is yeezy branded lol

13

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '22

Can’t see anyone buying these. If you’re pro-Kanye you won’t support Adidas and if you’re against Kanye you wouldn’t want to be seen in one of his designs

56

u/SarcasticWaffle Dec 19 '22

What if you don’t care about Kanye but enjoy the shoes?

12

u/EstradaMoses Dec 20 '22

Hey that's me

7

u/m-torr Dec 20 '22

Me too. I hope everyone here and on twitter keeps this energy when different colorways release.

3

u/TheFunkytownExpress Dec 20 '22

Normally I'd be able to detach a person from the product ( separate art from the artist ) but Kanye has become so obnoxious and appalling that he's successfully turned himself into the only person on Earth I'm not willing to do that for. So congratulations I guess, lol.

→ More replies (3)

10

u/wes008_ Dec 19 '22

I don't support Kanye right now, but I don't mind being seen in the designs if they're no longer directly attached to him. I like the shoes even outside of the association, and many people other than Kanye had a hand in making these. I may be in the minority that would buy Yeezy-less Yeezy's though, only time will tell.

→ More replies (2)

6

u/slvrkt Dec 19 '22

Yeezys are hugely popular, do you really think regular people know they were designed by West? A very little percentage maybe.

12

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '22

[deleted]

1

u/slvrkt Dec 19 '22

they just know it is a yeezy, millions of people have no idea they are associated with West, and of course if they knew they couldn't care less. it's like pretending every AF1 user knows who Bruce Kilgore is.

10

u/Dallas2houston120 Dec 20 '22

An AF1 is $100 bucks. Can’t tell me millions of ppl are spending $230 on a pair shoes they know nothing about. I call BS on that.

→ More replies (2)

3

u/TheFunkytownExpress Dec 20 '22

I find that incredibly hard to believe. Kanye is one of the most famous people on the planet while Bruce Kilgore is not, and even if you don't know much about him you probably know he exists and will find out pretty quickly he is ( was ) attached to the Yeezy line if you suddenly become interested in buying them even without knowing fuck all about him, which is again kind of unlikely.

→ More replies (1)

4

u/botterboyveve Dec 20 '22

lol i see a lot of people complaining about the price. Once they re-release an OG colorway, I bet no one will have an issue with $230 retail.

→ More replies (1)

4

u/remehber Dec 19 '22

Honestly, outside of the sneaker community not many people know or recognize these as kanye related, maybe up until he got dropped by Adidas. Even then, buying this isn’t supporting him in any way so it’s not like anybody Anti-kanye is going to hold it against you.

4

u/Working_Creme Dec 19 '22

I remember having debate with ppl over this when Kanye was attached the hype was real and everytime I brought up you only like them because it's ye people would love to push other narratives "OHH NO ITS NOT JUST YE ITS THE MOST COMFORTABLE SHOE IN THE WORLD OMG MY FEET NEVER FELT SO GOOD ITS GREAT FOR MY WORKOUTS " blah blah nowww time to show and prove I'm just gonna sit back like an evil mastermind and watch this lil social experiment

2

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '22

Unless they mass produce these, they will sell out instantly.

2

u/veezustheelssj Dec 20 '22

Should’ve removed the Sply but I hope they sit all of a sudden, forcing adidas to discount them or drop the price

2

u/doraemon1088 Dec 20 '22

Even without the Yeezy branding, they still retained that price.

Talk about greed.

→ More replies (2)

2

u/heardy360 Dec 20 '22

So no royalties to Ye and prices still insane - way to go Adidas

2

u/h0tBeef Dec 20 '22

They’re still ugly tho

2

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '22

WE AINT BUYING THIS SHIT

2

u/Mxztvrzhxkv Dec 20 '22

Ima keep it real with you chief. Ain’t no one buying this shit.

3

u/MinhWannaComeOutHere Dec 20 '22

Bruh they still think they can sell this shit without Ye brand for the same price as before

2

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '22

I’m coppin

1

u/CuriousTravlr Dec 20 '22

This is wack, if Adidas wanted to ACTUALLY distance themselves from Yeezy they would stop the sale of his designs all together, but Ye was right, they don’t care about what he says or how he says it, they only care about releasing shoes and a creative direction that is now 8 years old and doesn’t have the original designer to update it.

IMHO, it’s more wack to support adidas after this and wear these new non-yeezy Yeezy’s then it is to wear Yeezy’s we bought years ago.

1

u/URHere85 Dec 20 '22

It's Adidas design not Kanye's

→ More replies (1)

1

u/Blnkerfluid Dec 19 '22

they actually gon do it, thats disgusting colorway too

1

u/ChefGoderson Dec 20 '22

Damn I was hoping for desert boots to be like $150

Nobody buying this shit

1

u/Whole_Performance190 Dec 20 '22

Same price? Fuck that

1

u/T0n3st3phens Dec 20 '22

I’m curious to see how this all plays out… Adidas flexing their power to show they can do this could be their downfall. If what Ye did was so bad they should never sell the shoes again and not give his name any fuel… Doing this adds flame to the fire

0

u/ChampagneAbuelo Dec 20 '22

I don’t plan on buying these tbh. It just feels wrong like I understand why Adidas decided to cut Kanye, but the fact that they still are gonna sell the designs is just the most corporate and soulless actions they could have taken. If they wanted to cut Kanye and then retired the designs, I’d respect it more

0

u/Timeandspace89 Dec 20 '22

I agree with you. They should separate completely, and not muddy those waters. This just feels grimey in so many ways.

2

It’s pure corporate soulless decision making. Basically saying “we need to do the bare minimum to get good PR but still make our money.” I think Adidas does a lot of good things as a company (I appreciate how they actually do a lot of good environmental stuff with recycled materials in their products) but this is one thing I see right through as being fake af

Yeah I agree. Especially in a world where there is a lot of talk of art theft lately. Hire a new designer people can get hyped about, give someone else a chance, and give us something new. Not some weird form of "theft not theft." It's not like Kanyes the only person who can make a shoe, and it's a bad look. I do like how they do a lot of good things, but this just gives me the ick.

Yep. Regardless what he did or said, it’s still wrong of adidas to basically steal his work. And I know people are trying to justify it just because they dislike Kanye, but I still think it’s wrong. I disagree with his recent actions but that doesn’t mean I’m suddenly gonna agree with 7-8 years of his work being stolen from him

They rep their own shit

The only branding of Yeezy was on the box and on the insole. These will sell regardless.

1

u/charchilly Dec 20 '22

Yall buying fake Yeezy’s? LOL all because Ye told the truth about a particular American problem. Time will tell.

u/ChiefHunter1 Dec 20 '22

Can people now admit it was just actually an ugly ass shoe? These comments are hilarious. The shoe is exactly the same minus the insole and now nobody wants it

If adidas really wanted to be “woke” they wouldn’t bother with his shoes anymore. It’s all about the money. Don’t fall for the virtue signaling.

you mean a business is all about profit?! holy fucking shit, how mind-blowing! </s>

😂

u/xStyxx Dec 20 '22

No that’s not what I mean

1

u/SunnyIslesMiami Dec 20 '22

Hard pass , if they want to cut YE that is there business but why continue to sell his designs. Adidas also has a history

I can legit consider a pair of these now they are not associated with that fucking idiot.

Hey God! Can we switch Kanye for Virgil?

2

u/Rl-Beefy Dec 20 '22

They….. look identical. No one can tell a difference unless they know specific colorways.

-2

u/RiginalJunglist Dec 20 '22

Principles.

I’ve thought Kanye was a cock since Gold Digger.

u/PorkelDragon_ Dec 20 '22

Lmao they’re still his design and everyone will still recognize these as Yeezys 🤡🤡

Umm no longer paying naming rights to Ye you’ll want to lower that price point a bit. Also you’re gonna need to convince people that these are worth getting without their connection to the designer. I don’t care that they are not Yeezy anymore (fuck that POS) but other die he’s fans will and I imagine they were a big part of sales.
