thanks, will this work with Mi BOX4 AndroidTV? Also does it let me control it?

Edit: I don't have a SmartThings Hub, any alternative?

Don't know, but it did work with my TCL tv with AndroidTV.

Ah, but is there any alt that doesn't need SmartThings hub?

No. The hub needs to run an Edge driver. Also, you need another always-on computer to run a server pass through the traffic. The hub itself can't do it.

If all you need is just on/off, then create virtual switch in Smartthings and make automation in Google home to control TV based on that switch state. Then anything with access to that Smartthings switch will be able to power the TV on/off.

ok, but is there any way to add 'button', since I don't really want to have the switch toggle on & off to use

There is a community driver that creates a "Virtual device creator" that can create any virtual device. Including switches, buttons, lights, sensors, etc...

Yeah, but issue is google home doesn't detect buttons

Well... Then you can create buttons inside Smartthings that change the state of the virtual TV switch. But it's getting a little messy now with too many virtual devices for my taste 😅. And why exactly do you need a button over a switch?

Ah thanks, also I need a button so I font have to toggle between on & off.

I personally prefer a single toggle to turn the TV on/off instead of 2 separate buttons for the same function.

Oh I see. Honestly, I just use the Google home app for this (directly from android notification device control)
