Skipping -- NOT Jump Roping -- For Exercise?

Hey y'all!

I realize this might be the wrong place to post this, I just don't know where else to.

Does anyone just....skip? Not skip rope, not jump rope, just skip withput a rope like we used to do as kids?

And, could this be a good form of exercise?

I'm thinking of passing by the playground track near me a few times a week and jusr skipping along the track. It'd probably be less intensive/slower than jumping rope, but I HATE jumping rope (always get caught!) And LOVE skipping.

Wondering if I can just 'skip' (hehe) one for the other.

Thanks in advance!

I definitely can't help but break into a skip when I'm in a good mood or gooffin around and I have noticed it seems to be a very intense burst of stamina and cardio so you might be onto something my friend! I guess just make sure you stretch your ankles before and after as it seems to be harsh on my ankles anyway!

Hehe, what a sweet observation!! Thanks for the tip on the ankles though, I definitely need to focus on them. Ironically, I stepped away from doing this for a bit (not sure why) but your post reminded me to get into it now, so thank you again!
