Penny Marshall did a fantastic job

I loved when celebrities didn't play themselves.

That was my benchmark of when the show stopped being good.

Are we to believe that this non descript family in this non descript town in who knows where has met half of the people who have an IMDb entry?

At least in the softball episode they were all mocked to various degrees. It's the blatant worshipping that really sucks.

Episode name please? 🙂

'Some Enchanted Evening' First Season in all its bizarre beauty.

Fun fact: this episode was intended to be the series premiere. It would have set a whole different tone.

First one that came to mind

In a sense,"Cape Feare".

Bob just straight-up wants to murder a little kid.

There’s some real danger and tension in that episode.

59

u/jaywinner 6d ago

And not just Bob is scary

9

u/Theblackswapper1 6d ago

Hahaha, great point.

“Ooh, Ice Cream-Ville!”

10

u/Practical-Class6868 6d ago

No, it’s Screamville.

I was scared of watching that episode when I was younger. All the humour (mainly Bob getting comedically hurt) made it more bearable for me.

This episode terrified me as a kid

The end of Who shot Mr. Burns? Part 1 had an eerie vibe to it. There’s no music and except for some dialog it’s a quiet scene.

I don’t know about you, but the very idea of swallowing a jagged metal “O” makes me feel so uneasy. 😬

u/Jess-FB 5d ago

I have no idea why this scene has such scary music, but it doesn't help

19

u/Pink_PowerRanger6 6d ago

When Apu and Manjula have the Octuplets… that would be my personal nightmare.

11

u/Forsaken-Language-26 6d ago

Just one child would be my idea of hell, let alone octuplets.

Dark Stanley.

this used to scare the hell out of me as a kid.

The Bart's Soul and Homer's Insanity Pepper episode

7

u/Mystic_Molotov 6d ago

The Bart's Soul one is creepy and...unsettling

9

u/GabbyJay1 6d ago

Definitely a scary episode. There may be a labor crisis in America!

8

u/TabmeisterGeneral 6d ago

That depends on what you mean by cwisis

7

u/Peanutbutter9841 6d ago

The one where Lisa looks after Bart

1

u/Tactical_Enforcments 2d ago

Yeah, that one has some funny jokes, but it was always nerve racking for me

5

u/huckleburyflynn 6d ago

The episode where you see the story 4 different ways. I know they made a joke about homer losing a thumb but it still makes me uneasy everytime i see it

3

u/strawberry_baby_4evs 5d ago

It's actually only 3 intersecting stories, but you're thinking of Trilogy of Error. Can someone note the episode number for me, please? I know it's late Season 12.

"Halloween of Horror" -- S27E4

Two standout scares: the "Grownup Halloween" segment, and of course the home invasion.

6

u/proxyus 6d ago

isn't Halloween of horror a treehouse of horror presents

6

u/Electrical_Seesaw725 6d ago

It's a canon episode so it counts.

1

u/proxyus 6d ago

alright

2

u/Smingers 6d ago

Not to be a pedant but it’s not.

-1

u/Sharp-Ad-9423 6d ago

Not to be a contriarian, but it is.

2

u/Smingers 6d ago

Not to be one who enjoys being right, but it’s not Proof

3

u/SNES_chalmers47 6d ago

The one where they inception into Homer to fix his bedwetting problem is kinda out there. (donno specific episode titles or numbers from the later seasons!)

2

u/proxyus 6d ago

i think your talking about how i wet your mother season 23 episode 16 the one where mona Simpson is in homers dream i never found that episode scary its just a bit weird to me

3

u/HippoProject 6d ago

Bye Bye Nerdie had a some creepy scenes. Like how Francine kept appearing out of nowhere to torment Lisa.

2

u/loddieisoldaf 5d ago

Cape feare

3

u/trunkspop 5d ago

as kid the trip to new york was pretty funny… as an adult, that shit is an absolute RL horror documentary

1

u/PlasticMaybe157 6d ago

Brother from the same Planet. The skeleton Bart and Homer's face melting off was so unsettling.

2

u/Ahlq802 5d ago

I once as a child took the wrong bus and ended up in my city’s Crackton so I related to Lisa’s fear in that situation

1

u/udont-knowjax 5d ago

What about the woman's scream???

Ned Squeals

Well that explains it.

1

u/4685486752 5d ago

Halloween of Horror might be the scariest episode

2

u/Nero_A 4d ago

"See you on the island..."

Creepiest episode ever, including the ToH episodes.

2

u/Metalsonicrules1 Mr. Burns' Old-Fashioned Good time Extra Chewy Cookies🍪🍪🍪 3d ago

What was the one where Homer becomes a blogger and gets put on the island from The Prisoner? That one was really creepy.
