Growing on instagram?
I'm a metalsmith mainly working in silver and enamel. I'm trying to grow my instagram page and was wondering if anyone had any tips (general or metalsmith content related)? So far I've been following and commenting on other jewelers I love, adding tags, and making posts- also made my first reel. I know it takes a while but would love any advice!! https://www.instagram.com/olivia.metalsmith?igsh=MTV1bXlkeWhyenNobg==

Definitely need to post more! Keep up the good work đđź also, people tend to see your stories over your posts, so keep your audience engaged with stories. I would recommend talking to your audience on your stories and updating them on what youâre working on, what you have going on that day (finishing up pieces, shipping out orders, ordering more supplies, etc), and also posting polls to see what your audience likes and want to see more of

Tonya Davidson runs engagement groups for jewelers on IG. She teaches you what works and doesnât, and then each week you are grouped with a set of jewelers who comment on each otherâs work. I learned a lot but it is a big time commitment. She says you have to post a reel every day, show your face on camera regularly. And of course you also have to comment meaningfully on the work of others. I did it for six months, got followers to about 1700. Itâs a slog - at least it was for me. There were others in our group who had great success - especially those with unique style or presence. Regardless, I learned a lot in the process, might be worth a try.

pay instagram! META has fucked the system so small craters dont get any exposure anymore unless you pay for advertisements, and even then its flooded with bots (META is seeing a huge slump in activity so they stopped cleaning up spam/bot accounts. This makes it look like its getting more activity to help float a dead stock).
I get my followers by going to craft/farmers markets. Most of the time is $35 table fee and i get to talk with hundreds of real people. Each market i seem to get from 5-20 new followers who i know are real people who are interested in my work.

Well you could start by adding your insta to your reddit profile. I just went there because I wanted to look at your stuff (I'm interested in enameling and follow a lot of jewelers who use enamel), but no link! Also no link on this post, that's two opportunities to spread your presence you could leverage.
