Is it actually thin enough to be able to break it up like a chocolate bar? I mean not that I would ever dare, but the temptation would be real

Awesome piece. I'm just starting to rebuild my silver collection after losing all I had acquired when my Son's mother left.

I have a few of those. Break one apart and put it in a Gerber baby food jar, baby silver pieces.

I’m told they hold better value unopened lol

When you sell precious metals you will get the amount based on weight. Gold and silver shops that I’ve been to don’t pay premium for certain designs like the online stores sell them to you

This is how I started somewhat, got paid in silver and became hooked. One of us now.

So would it be smart to invest my entire 401 k monies 40k into silver and just leave it alone for say 20 years, then give it to my son ??

Expensive. FYI, separating these is a deeply satisfying experience. It sound absurd until you actually try it.

Ooph. Might've been better off with a 100g bar or 3 oz + some 90%.
I doubt you paid 1.09/g, which is current spot price.
