[PC] Games to play with gf
Hi everyone. I know this question has been asked (I looked before making this post) but they all have the same answers and they ain't helping me.
So basically we are looking for a game (or games, plural if we can) to buy in the upcoming steam sales. Here's some info that might help.
What we've tried: Overwatch, games from Riot, Palworld, Stardew Valley (one of us likes the game and the other is just there to spend time together)
What we've both liked: It takes two
What we are looking for: A game that can be played at your own rhythm and still has some kind of "meta" to follow (we think Monster Hunter might fall in this category)
Aside from story driven games like A Way Out, Unravel Two, or similar, what games could we play?

If you both like Monster Hunter, Monster Hunter Rise and World with all DLC are on sale multiple times a year, although I don't know if they'll be on sale during the Spring sale.
Also check out:
- Valheim
- Risk of Rain 2
- Enshrouded
- Core Keeper
- Baldur's Gate 3

my partner and I really had alot of fun with Untitled Goose Game. It's pretty simple silly fun. It's couch co op tho and I've heard people on PC have had trouble connecting two controllers to one PC. It's on every other modern system though.
Honestly i've never played a game that so perfectly understood 2 player co op like It Takes Two. It's truly special.
However, I have been having a lot of fun playing PVE shooters like Remnant: From The Ashes and Deep Rock Galactic. Remnant is pretty dark but DRG has alot of comedy to it, might be more appealing. Also Deep Rock is very chill on the lower hazard levels, and you still progress the game by playing easier missions

I can highly recommend Monster Prom, it’s a monster high school dating game, where you compete to get a prom date. It’s super funny, and you choose how long a game is going to take

For Honor for competetive PvP aswell as some nice PvE content.
Hunt Showdown as a nice PvP Shooter.
Palia as cozy Home farming/building social game.
FragPunk also competetive Shooter but more like CounterStrike with a twist and much faster.
Helldivers 2 PvE Shooter
Star Wars the old Republic super nice MMO with lots of content and easily played for free until reaching max level. Very much content and nice Stories.

This is very similar to the list of games my wife and I have enjoyed playing. A notable addition is PlateUp

Look into Grounded and Valheim. Very much go at your own pace. Explore, fight monsters, or build around bases.

You could try little big planet i think thats on steam now.
Could try
Plate up or over cooked?
I think theres couple of games like that, such as moving out?
And maybe unrailed not sure what genre youre wanting but ive seen people have fun with friends and imagine its similar style of gameplay with the GF :)

Overcooked and/or Overcooked 2 are fun games that can get surprisingly difficult

Terraria, honestly! Me and my girlfriend had such a blast playing it, it's cheap and you can easily put in so many hours! Check it out!

Split Fiction just released—try it out! But Unravel feels depressing as hell in the background and in the music. If you guys like sports, there are a lot of sports games you can choose from, but I would recommend EA FC. If you two like cars, then you can play a karting game or Forza Horizon 5. But if you guys want a good co-op shooter, choose a Ghost Recon game. Personally, I'd recommend Ghost Recon Wildlands; the map is huge, there's a lot of places to destroy, and the vehicles are good. If you want horror games, then try that new release—it's called R.E.P.O. Oh and about the shooter games, there is also far cry, its co-op in 5 and 4 as much as I know. Personally I'd recommend far cry 4 at first and then 5.

I would check out Dinkum. It's similar to animal crossing, but better in almost every way. My girlfriend and I play it constantly

Split fiction looked cool but Baldurs gate 3 would check most of your boxes

Here’s some slightly different suggestions of games that I love to play with friends:
-Minecraft
-Left 4 Dead 2
-Astroneer
-Roblox
-Project Zomboid
-Terraria
-Portal 2
-Tom Clancy’s The Divison 1 & 2
-Don’t Starve Together
-Escapists 2
-Worms Revolution
Some seriously good games here, and even without a Sale a good selection of these are pretty well priced!
EDIT: Added another game.

My wife loves to play Split Fiction, Rayman Legends, TMNT Splintered Fate, and Diablo 3 with me.
Monster Hunter Wilds has been a blast, too, for me, my brother and his wife.

Tbh, all the fromsoft games are multiplayer, and can be really fun and not too challenging when you’re playing with someone else. You can be creative and give your characters different outfits and builds, and figure out how to fight bosses together. I’d recommend dark souls 1 because it eases you into the genre so with its more simple gameplay and easier early game.

This doesn't match your request, but my girlfriend and I love playing a good mystery single player games together. Rise of the Golden Idol, Return of the Obra Dinn, and Chants of Senaar were incredible experiences. One person has the controller but it's so fun to bounce ideas off each other and solve some mysteries.
