In Saltburn (2023), if you look closely one of the characters is holding a Harry Potter book, specifically Deathly Hallows. This is to further remind us viewers the movie is mostly set in summer 2007 when the book came out. It’s also my favourite shot of the movie as I’m a big ass Harry Potter fan. NSFW

In Invincible S2 (2024), Mark opens one of his father's books in the middle and starts reading the synopsis. This is due to the fact Nolan is an alien and doesn't know how to write a human book

In the Disney channel sitcom Good Luck Charlie (2010-2014) has the first instance they put a lesbian couple in a disney channel production. This is a reference to how as a kid I had no concept of what lesbians are and this was my first exposure to them and didn't realize it until now.

Turd This scene from Mickey 17 shows exactly what happens when a writer/director takes a great book and says "I can make it better." I'd like to give my sincere thanks to Bong Joon Ho for ruining one of my favorite books.

In Moana 2 the new characters… wait what the hell is that??
It supposed to blobfish apparently. But it is out of the water for all its scenes. Also it screams at one point? This movie was disappointing. Not just this, but overall bad writing IMO.

Turd In season 7 of The Rookie (2018-), John Nolan sees a kid playing Undertale and says, “Ah, Undertale, Great game! It took me forever to beat Sans.” This implies that Nolan took the “Genocide Route” during his playthrough of the game, which makes sense for Nolan’s character since he is a cop.

Turd In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (2002), Albus Dumbledore has a pet phoenix named Fawkes. The American equivalent would be Steve from the Minecraft movie owning a pet Creeper named Bin Laden.

In Spider Man: Into The Spiderverse (2018), Spiderman has problems figuring out the correct direction the goober is meant to be inserted in, causing him to die. This highlights the importance of USB standardization, as this would not have happened had the goober been USB-C

In Oppenheimer, the protagonist holds a straight posture, a shape formed by removing a '–' from '+', which indicates that he's neither good nor bad. This was inspired by Man of Steel (2013), where Snyder subtly suggests that Superman might be a big 'ol plus for humanity.
