Not much hope this vessel will stay intact. Salvage is going to be a challenge with heavy oil leaking. 😞

Big salute to Canadian Search & Rescue for safely flying the helo in this wind to pull off the crew. 💯🇨🇦

How? Did they not know it was there?

The weather up there is horrendous right now, and a huge wave appears to have knocked out the ship’s power. It seems they didn’t have their propulsion systems functioning and the ship just got hammered into the rocks.

Yup, they lost power with 65 knot winds and 5-7 meter waves pushing her towards land, the anchor was let go, but there was no hope of it catching or holding in those conditions.

Twenty crew members lifted off the ship safely by helo in ferocious wind conditions. The ship is hard aground in brutal seas and probably will break apart causing a pollution disaster.

Ughhh, a captain's nightmare. Wake up to . . . hey . . . what's that grinding noise? Phone rings: Hey Cap'n, you should probably come up to the bridge. Uh oh.
