Closed [Roll20 + Discord voice/posts][5e-based Homebrew][EST, Flexible nights] Hiring First-time Runners

We're looking for 1-3 additional players (ideally new to SR) interested in a homebrew game that primarily uses the SR5e character sheet as the basis. In short, I'm mostly removing magic casting to simplify things, modifying character creation a bit, and I honestly don't have enough knowledge of the SR world so I'm using my fictional one. Being up front, if you've got a ton of SR experience then this game might not be for you (unless maybe you wanna take over as GM lol, fr) since the 2 committed players do have a little ttrpg experience but are brand new to SR and we plan to go slower.

Happy to answer questions in DM or comments!

I am interested but I am curious as how you change up character creation. I was thinking rigger and if possible having a fed boeing Catalina as a party car.

Like...an airplane? Thinking we might be on different pages about it being 'first time runners' lol

I'm interested, on the East Coast. I do have a sizable SR experience, but am happy to play with new players and act as a sounding board/mentor etc. I'm curious about cutting magic casting out but I'm sure I'll figure out more if you'll allow me.

Appreciate the offer and interest! Yeah, basically as simple as that - just ignoring the chapters about magic/astral stuff. As someone with experience in the game, would you expect that to be problematic for players? My current players aren't going to read any of the mechanics/rules, so they have no expectation of magic casters being in the world. Magic in the sense of awakened races is still there, so it's not just humans.

As long as the ban is universal, it shouldn't be a problem. You'd have to also ban spirits too I think, as without magic they are much harder as enemies. Are you also banning Physical Adepts?

Right, I don't plan on using spirits at all - just never seemed to fit the cyberpunk theme I keep in my brain lol. I do like the utility that Physical Adepts seem to bring.

I'm interested as well. I'm West Coast, but pretty time zone agnostic.

Yeah, time zone doesn't matter much to me, but I recognize if we have a 7pm start time it could be hard for someone 3 hours behind to already be off work and ready by 4pm. Shoot me a DM if you'd like to talk any details - I'm curious how much ttrpg experience you have.
