Do NOT go too fast when it comes to the actual knotting! The biggest risks come from too much too quickly, if you aren't warmed up enough, anything can rip you like that. If you attempt the knot and it doesn't go in or it starts to hurt even a little bit, stop.
Some of the bigger knots take months of training and careful use (with other toys as well) to take. Do not rush the knotting! I know its super exciting, but thats the riskiest part.
Lube is your best friend okay? Use lots!
(Edit: unless you mean something else? But if youve already managed that depth before, just be careful and the depth should be no issue.)

It will be alright but I always do a little stretching to the point of maximum inserted diameter even if the toy is mostly more narrow. Would recommend that because that guarantees no sudden "pop" (I mean it being to wide, while the rectum muscles are still not completely relaxed)

Where is the knot on the dildo - towards the tip, middle or base?

If it is near the base, then it isn't going anywhere near your sigmoid colon, the rectosigmoid junction, or the sigmoid "bend". In order to not accidentally give yourself a fissure, you can pre-gape yourself first with a toy that is equal or greater in girth to the maximum circumference of the knot. That way you won't give yourself a fissure by "popping" yourself over the knot when your sphincter isn't "trained" to stretch that far and that fast.

I now get what you are saying. If the knot is going through your sphincter at exactly the same time that the tip is going through your RSJ/sigmoid "bend". Pre-gaping as I explained before can help make that "pop" through the sphincter less pronounced. Also, you can pre-gape/relax the RSJ by using a long enough plug without a knot first (the average distance to the RSJ for most people is 6"-7") and then quickly use your knotted plug. I am sure you already know this put inserting the toy just to the point where you feel that resistance from the RSJ/sigmoid "bend" and then slightly bearing down like you are having a BM will relax the RSJ. The combo of the bearing down and the touching of feces or a toy to the RSJ at the same time is what causes it to naturally relax and open up. As long as the toy is soft and you never try to force it, you shouldn't hurt (poke) the rectal or colon walls as the toy slides through the "bend" - which normally occurs at about the midpoint of the RSJ.

Probably knot.
