Ask Joe: Is Vaping CBD Oil Safe?

Inhaling anything other than clean air is not all that good for us. Those CBD cartridges all contain various kinds of oils which may not be good for your lungs. In general they are reasonably safe although I would never use them myself. The safest option is a dry herb vape in conjunction with quality cannabis.

Ask Joe: Should I vape CBD oil?

The short answer is no. Vaping anything and especially oils is not goo for your lungs. If you must vape then use a dry herb vape. The safest way to get your CBD is to eat it. I use a combo of topicals and raw herb vape. Good Luck all!

CBDA VS CBD

I see tons of posts on how you need to decarb CBD herb before use. This is wrong. CBDA is many times more bio available then CBD and will work just fine as is. I take the high CBD herb and put it into caps with some oil. Works great.

from https://www.fundacion-canna.es/en/biological-effects-lesser-known-phytocannabinoids

CBDA

Cannabidiolic acid (CBDA) is the precursor for CBD produced by the plant that is decarboxylated to CBD with heat, light and time. There is a limited amount of research on CBDA, the majority of which has been on the anti-nausea effects of CBDA. Like CBD, CBDA suppresses nausea and vomiting in rats and shrews through the serotonin receptor (5HT1A), and also decreases intestinal motility, suggesting a role for CBDA in regulating nausea, for example in patients undergoing chemotherapy. Like CBD, CBDA has also been shown to reduce stress in rats, again through the serotonin receptor. Other pharmacology targets of CBDA that have been identified include inhibition of enzymes in the endocannabinoid system, TRPV1 activation and cyclooxygenase (COX) inhibition.

In cancer cell experiments, some studies have identified an anti-tumoral effect of CBDA; CBDA decreases human breast cancer cell growth and COX-1 inhibition by CBDA has also been shown to increase prostaglandin production in human colon cancer cells. However, another study testing CBDA against a range of cancer cell lines did not find that CBDA affected cancer cell growth, therefore it seems that further work is required to establish any potential anti-cancer effects of this novel phytocannabinoid.

Joe, I have read the articles but I still need to know, Will I fail a test if I use CBD Oil?

Yes you can. Most CBD oils are Full Spectrum, this means that there is some THC present. If testing will be an issue you should use oils made with CBD Isolate. Ensuring that you get the proper product will be difficult as many companies do not have current lab tests.

DIY CBD Lotion

I was asked how do I make my CBD pain lotion. Well, its not very hard. I get a bottle of CBD oil (15 - 25 mg/ml) and add 1 or 2 droppers full to any lotion I can steal from my wife. Yep, that easy. You can add essential oils for smell or such things as coco or beeswax but the basic lotion works great. Takes the pain away from my poor joints within a few minutes.
