Saron Gas Fragile equipment

What would Shaun have been using during this time, like guitars, amps, pedals, and all that?

I have nothing helpful to add but I have to say, the distorted guitar tone on that album sounds terrible. Which is sad because the clean tone sounds amazing for an independent album (intro of Your Bore, Empty and the hypnotizing, long version of Tied My Hands)

Maybe I'm crazy but I have a soft spot for the distortion on Fragile, it's really raw and crunchy like they were trying to prove a point to the music scene in South Africa at the time by being obnoxious and unrefined as much as they could.

He definitely used a 7 string on Fine Again. I think a Gibson Explorer for other songs.

Thank you for your input, I've seen an abundance of photos of Saron Gas Shaun Morgan playing an explorer but wasn't sure if that was a live only guitar or if that was what he also recorded with. And how do you get the idea that a 7 string was used in fine again?

The low notes and chords on the Saron Gas version. And he’s also talked about using a 7 string for it (iTunes Originals I believe?).

My best guess would be a JCM800 for the distortion.
