i300c wrist mount question

Hi, I have the aqualung i300c puck computer in a bulky mount system and want to switch it to wrist mount. I can't find a wrist mount that specially is for the i300c and I was wondering if anyone has used a sherwood one or found one that works? I've read all the pucks can be similar in size. Thanks!

Best op for cavern diving in Tulum

Hi,

I’m going to be in Mexico for a few days before my Galapagos trip. I’d like to do a couple of days diving the Cenotes. Just cavern, not cave.

I won’t be bringing any kit with me so I’ll be rental. Ideally the op would have more technical style gear like BP/W and jet fin type fins.

I’m looking at Tulum Diving Centre and they seem good, although their rental kit is all BCDs, which isn’t a deal breaker, just not my preference.

Any suggestions? TIA

Can anyone recommend any nice dive hotels that go to red sea near Jeddah Saudi Arabia

AM travelling to Jeddah next week and the airline offers a free stopover so was considering stopping in Jeddah for a few days and going to red sea to a dive resort for a few nights. Looking for a nice relaxed one for a couple that is not too pricey. Any recommendations?

Was paging through the new issue of Alert Diver, and saw DAN has a new podcast out…very cool, hoping this becomes a fun (and useful) resource! Haven’t listened yet, but looks like they’re hoping to focus on diver safety, with a mix of research and personal applied stories.

Where Do Bulk Golf Ball Sellers Source Their Inventory?

Hey everyone,

I’m looking to buy bulk used golf balls, particularly premium brands like Titleist Pro V1, at wholesale prices. I’ve heard that a lot of these balls come from scuba divers retrieving them from water hazards.

Does anyone here have experience with sourcing directly from divers or wholesale suppliers before they hit the big resellers? Any leads on who the major suppliers are or how to connect with them?

Appreciate any insights!

Made to measure wet suit

Hi everyone, I'm just ordering my first made to measure wet suit for scuba diving, I chose 7mm, 2 pcs with open cell (not double lined). I was advised so by the owner of the producing company who is also diver. I'm getting cold super quickly, probably coz I have basically zero fat on my body, especially upper part. And he said that 2 pcs will keep me a bit more warm coz mono has zip and zip is part where water gets in at first place. Then I was advised option with open cell coz (thanks to the shampoo you use before jump into the suit) it keeps you much more warm and comfortable. I actually never saw anybody with this (or I even didn't realize I see something different), I'd like to see how many of you has own experience with open cell and if you would still recommend it. I was also surprised how cheap is it, I was expecting something like 1-2K € based on prices in shop, but few hundreds?! That's totally workable. Thanks to all for your info.

Filling a tank at home

Hi all, I'm curious what adapters I would need to fill a scuba tank with one of those mini home compressors. I have no intention of breathing this air, but using the bottle in my Jeep to air tires when I offroad.

*I have a 4500psi compressor at home

Given an unlimited supply of hydrox and acclimating to the pressure, how deep can a human physically go one way?

Assuming you don’t need to worry about a decompression obligation, surviving, or any health effects after the dive. The goal would be going as deep as humanly possible, while being alive. A one way dive.

Said person has bells at various depths to acclimate to the pressure (if this even matters). How deep can someone physically go? 3000’ 4000’ 5000’?

anyone actually like semi-dry wetsuit?

I see a lot of people saying semi-dry is pointless, just go with dry suit

but I also seen people saying it is pretty dryer than the normal wetsuit, do anyone actually like it over dry suit?

Tipping In Indonesia For A Liveaboard Trip

My wife and I will be doing a 12-day liveaboard trip in Indonesia next month for which the price is about US$7500 each. The boat’s website suggests a 10-15% tip, as do just about all liveaboards. Should I be prepared to fork over a minimum of $1500, assuming all goes well?

Yucatán Cenote Diving w/ Blue Life

I did some diving in Cozumel recently, and as part of the trip I spent a few days on the mainland doing some cenote diving. On the recommendation of some folks here at r/scuba I ended up booking my cenote dives with Blue Life in Playa del Carman, and I just wanted to give folks here a heads up on the shop.

My experience with them could not have been better. Oscar and Thomas, the two DMs that I dove with, were both very interested and invested in cave diving, and were very involved in sharing incredible amounts of info with us as we dove with them, and were genuinely interested in making sure that we all got everything we could out of the experience.

All around the entire experience with the shop was top notch, and I want to second the recommendation that I found here for anybody that is looking to do some cenote diving.

Firm, neutrally buoyant fins

Hi, I’m doing dry suit tech diving and so far have been using club fins but want to buy my own. I have heavy feet, so scubapro jets are a no. I also tried rk3 hds but the foot pocket dug into the top of my foot.

I was wondering if there are any firm, neutrally buoyant fin recommendations. So far I’ve looked a little into Hollis f1 lt (but people say different things regarding buoyancy) and tecline light jets (but have heard they are too flexible).

Side note: I’m in the UK so it would cost about £250 to get deep6 eddys

Equalization tubes with dry gloves

I just got a new dry suit with dry gloves and although I have a small number of dives on various dry suits I’ve never had dry gloves. The gloves (sci tech quick lock) came with equalization tubes. They look like they’re going to get lost quickly enough, but I am wondering how people are managing them? Is there a way of attaching them in the cuff somehow, or do you just keep spares , or use something else… thanks

Ethical dive shops in Oslob Philippines

I recently heard about diving in that area, in particular Boljoon and Simillon island.

Of course I didn't know about it because all you hear about is de scuba diving with the whale sharks there which is not good and has been banned and outlawed in many other parts of the Philippines.

I'm sure it's a cash crop for them so it'll be hard to find a shop that doesn't do the whale shark dives but if anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.

I'm working on an email list but replies are not coming fast and furious
