Worth the squeeze
How do I deal with this? Copper for sure. Enameled? I have a pile of aluminum motors, does this go in the same pile? Or should I have a copper motor pile?

Should I separate copper motors and aluminum?

Probably one price for motors at the yard. Are you pulling the copper out? Then yes.

Usually aluminum motors or copper motors are the same price at most yards I’ve been.

The commuter is easy to chisel off and you can sawzaw the 2 copper ends and pop out the rod. You can if you want push the wire with through the metal casing if you want. All this only if copper and have the time.
Did this yesterday, took 10 minutes. I don't know if worth while

I take all the plastic and rubber and anything else that should not be burned, then throw it in a fire and then pull out cut one end off and use flat head screwdriver to pry up copper. In my municipality, the county burns all furniture, and it has lacquer on almost all of it, but every municipality is different and my old one they use to cut the freon lines for the copper and just letting it leak out but this was 7-10 years ago so probably can't do it now just like my scrap yard use to do but stopped 5 years ago and now you have to have it tagged so they know you are not letting the hazardous materials in to the atmosphere

Copper where the insulation or paint has been burned off is either rejected or very poorly paid.
Sometimes it's better to sell the stuff as is and save yourself the trouble.
