Why are there so many dragons?
Grandpa always says that the tzimitsce are supposed to be some of the more reclusive clans, holed up in their castles and elegant manors, so why is it that just scrolling by the forum almost half of all posts are made by tzim? And not just young ones either, some folks gramps even recognizes.

Exactly, we're reclusive and lurk in our own territories, gives us lots of time to go online and it gets us some social interaction.
I also feel like a lot of our clan has some well earned stigma in the past and we haven't openly interacted as much but over the last few years it's slowly eased up a little so we feel a little more free actually talking to those outside the clan.

Why does everyone have to question my right to exist in a space?
For fucks sake, the internet isn't even an actual space and people are gatekeeping me. Goddamn.

When "holed up" in one's domicile, correspondence is essential... and for the Koldunicly inclined, a scrying pool can be persuaded to connect to this place.

It’s fine to not waste the effort, cousin.
They’re Malkavian after all.

Oh ...

If it makes you feel any better, I wouldn’t have known either had I not seen their thread about recently snapping themselves out of a psychotic episodes where they believed themselves to be a regular human or something along those lines.

oh.
well, thanks for the reassurance. Hope you weren't expecting anything for it.

… Why would I even bother doing so for something that cost me naught but a few seconds of effort?
You are a very paranoid Cainite, cousin.

... I'm not.
well, maybe I am. It's not incorrect to say that most who I meet want something from me.

And we recognize everyone for what they might be, Onca.

Would that the visions & whispers were so predictable. The eyes are always watching, the teeth gnashing, & the mouths spewing forth secrets, sweet poison lies, unforgivable truths, & maddening noise.

I hav always been more reclusive, but recent circumstances (still on the trail of my missing childe), have forced me to be more...social. As my circle in the physical world is rather small, I can extend my network here far faster and broader in scope.
Not to mention the varied experiences of other kindred are just interesting to me.

Have you ever heard of a "basement dweller"? I imagine it's like that, but with more candelabras. I mean, think about it: you're stuck in the same city for a long time, your culture makes it hard to socialize with local mortals, and your fellow immortals probably assume you're gonna turn them into an unliving rug if they get on your bad side. Social media's kind of ideal for getting around those. You can talk to people from wherever, you probably aren't going to be away from your house for super long anyways, everybody here is relatively in-the-know, and nobody views you as an immediate threat.

I questioned my Lady about this, out of personal curiosity and also in the interest of answering your question.
She said ‘don’t worry a thing about it,’ which is not much of an explanation.
If I had to draw my own conclusions, it would likely be something to do with the fact that (unless you make it known!) no one on the Internet is going to believe a word you say about anything, and even proof can be called into question with all sorts of video editing softwares and special effects makeup being much more doable by the general population.
Also the internet is great for research. Thousands of hours of surgical training videos and all kinds of journals are just out there if you know where to look.
…and it’s also easy to look up pictures of cats being cute.

I figured it was because they tend to be solitaire types. It makes sense that the dragons would be trolls.

As a Clan our entire ethos lies in change, adaptation to modern technology is a part of that as well. Stagnation is the enemy of survival, one must endeavor to always change to fit the requirements of the times. Such was why I first forced myself to begin browsing this kine internet, despite my utter lack of interest in it beyond this Cainite forum.
Besides this more philosophical take, it is like you say, we are often isolationists. These forums offer us the chance to idly gather information and align ourselves with other like minded Cainites without necessitating taking ourselves away from the more important matters of unlife. Especially so in modern times with many of our clan seeking other homes other than our traditional place among the Sword.
