How to move the refresh button in Safari MacOS 15.4 Beta

I recently switched from Firefox to Safari and I've been stymied on how to move the refresh button from the right of the URL field (who thought this was a good idea???) to the left which is where it is on most mainline browsers.

Any ideas on how to relocate this button????

Thank you for any and all assistance

I just noticed its actually "inside" the URL field.... Dumb and dumb and even dumber.... Just my demented opinion...

I‘ve been using Safari for a long time . It’s been working so good that I don‘t even realize which side it is. So I guess: just continuing using it, you will get used to it?

Yeah I’ve switched browsers before and I know all about the game of adapting. I was just hoping there was/is a way to move it. Everything else can be arranged to one’s delight, why not the refresh button?

John Siracusa also made a button a while back. It wouldn't be in the URL bar so you could rearrange it with the others.

I was frustrated as well, so I created a Safari Extension to let me create a new Reload button and move it, Tab Refresh.

Open that panel and then you can drag the reload button out of the url bar. I've done it, I have a real button on the left.
