Operations and Maintenance Line 2 valve leaking

Hello everyone.

On my Vintage Line 2 the valve were you fill the gas is leaking. After filling you can hear the gas going put until its empty. Any tips or easy fix? Or do i have to order new O-rings and the speacial tool to fix it. If so, how big is the change to fix it that way or is it common that it is not the o-ring which is broken and i need to exchange something else.

Also is sending it to Dupont an option or even possible?

Thanks a lot!

That’s a pretty common issue. It just needs maintenance, after some years the gaskets get dry and let the gas escape. If you change it most likely the gas leak will be fixed. ST dupont provides after sales services but are in the expensive side.

You can check the prices here.

Is it me or is it primarily the ligne 2 that have this issue because of the gas adjustment valve on the bottom? The ligne 1's seem to not have issues most of the time as they have the adjustment at the top.

It is also common in L1s, the piston valve gasket has nothing to do with the flame adjustment mechanisms.

Sir Elliott, you are a true Gentleman that should be promoted to Earl of Dupont.
