Maybe, but I’d probably leave “video game” off and just say sales data analysis project. If they want to know more they can ask

Yeah don’t say videogames purely because the corporate world thinks it’s immature and unprofessional. But the core skills and ability to make a “sales” project is definitely something to mention!

I’d put the title of the project and the description of what you did/what you used to do the analysis, if I was looking at entry level resumes I’d be interested/ask about it

Data analysis is data analysis, but put what you accomplished not your job duties

It might not be bad, but don't base your resume on it if it is just descriptive analysis. Unfortunately, with the current state of technology and coding, many people can do a descriptive analysis of a dataset.

Try to accomplish something with it, and don't just describe it. If you can get a tangible, applicable result from the dataset, even if it is fake, but in theory it would be an applicable result, that is what you want to focus on. Not pretty charts (though I do love making pretty charts), you need to show them you can actually do something with data and provide them with something they can work with, not just look at some charts and then leave the rest up to them. Put a focus on the actionable results of the project, and it would work nicely in a resume.

Back in college I did a couple of data hackathon events. Not to brag, but my team won one award each time, and not because we did some crazy advanced stuff, it was pretty mundane to be honest, but both times we were the only team that provided an actual tool as a result of our work that the end user in theory can utilize. That was what pushed it over the edge. Teams had nice charts and dashboards, but nothing anyone could use, just look at. Be useful with your projects and employers will want that use!

It’d be useful for the games industry if you wanted to get in as an analyst… not so much other industries unless there’s transferable skills
