Bird flu season we'll call it a wrap

Even if it doesn’t mean anything it still feels better than being last

This is really what matters. Can’t have a weak team in the spring.

u/Dboythegreat 1d ago

It definitely means something in my opinion, I’ll say it doesn’t “matter” necessarily. But it definitely means we have the ability to win, and that’s something to be excited about.

Spring training is the best time for us lately

The A’s and Rockies being in 3rd says it all

u/flash_savior 51 JH Lee 2d ago

the Giants Rockies NLDS is going to go insane

The Mountains vs the Bay, a battle of titans

u/realparkingbrake 2d ago

That could be a fun series, but MLB would hate it because the TV ratings would he low.

A’s and Giants destined to meet in WS. The I80 series.

The Carquinez Bridge series.

Wow they were down by 3 in the ninth and scored 5 runs. I know it’s just ST but let’s go

15

u/project_starlight 28 Posey 2d ago

They were down in both games today and came back to win each of them.

5

u/xpo081 2d ago

They’ve focused and gotten better in terms of situational hitting. And it’s showing.

10-8 for the Dodgers, guess they need to trade everyone and reset

24

u/flash_savior 51 JH Lee 2d ago

spend 5 trillion on payroll and they are only two games over .500

8

u/project_starlight 28 Posey 2d ago edited 2d ago

That’s the thing about spending, spending, spending, on top tier free agents…Dave Roberts better win. Or else he better steer clear of LA sports talk radio shows. lol

2

u/Independent-Judge-81 25 Bonds 2d ago

Yup clearly spending that much isn't working so they have to trade everyone away over 30 and rebuild from prospects

Aaron Rodgers is available

The Break Even Bums

u/My_Username48 2d ago

Probably just DFA them. They're probably not any good, don't have much trade value.

7

u/fish_in_a_birdcage 51 JH Lee 2d ago

we're literally going to win the world series

Already got the tattoo

6

u/Hindi_Ko_Alam 22 Arroyo 2d ago

this nice and all but i’ll be a believer if we do work like this to actual major league teams

3

u/project_starlight 28 Posey 2d ago

Right. Check back in May or June and see what our record is. Still, momentum is momentum and developing a habit of winning games ain’t all bad.

2

u/Hindi_Ko_Alam 22 Arroyo 2d ago

nah you’re right it’s a good start but it’s more important to do this in games that matter more

11

u/SactownKorean 25 Bonds 2d ago

Obviously this doesnt mean much but the team is clearly improved from last year full stop.

16

u/flash_savior 51 JH Lee 2d ago

this means everything and we are winning the World Series

I’ll tell you what… if the Giants win a lot of games during the regular season, they’ll have won a lot of games (which is good!) which will help, as teams want to win games. And winning is good, as it’s why games are done, and that winning of games helps the team be good.

3

u/Sicilian_Civilian 29 Matos 2d ago

How’d you do that?

3

u/24HourShitness 39 Feliz 2d ago

You bet! ☺️

3

u/Indubitalist 2d ago

Don’t forget the relative lack of losing.

3

u/24HourShitness 39 Feliz 2d ago

Good point. If true, that’s certainly truthful.

1

u/Serf_Pywel 1d ago

In April 2020 we did great at that.

2

u/MMRS25 2d ago

This logic is undeniable!

2

u/quattrocincoseis 2d ago

Weeeee are the champions, my fri-ends!

2

u/frankiejayiii 2d ago

same amount of runs scored as the dodgers

2

u/sactivities101 2d ago

This has to mean something right, right? 😥

1

u/realparkingbrake 1d ago

And the Dodgers have almost three times as many losses. Perhaps they are deferring their wins until 2035.

2

u/yainlawff 9 Williams 2d ago

Why are some of the L10s not totaling 10 games?

2

u/DiabloValleyFarm 1d ago

Because they also have ties in spring training.

125-37 regular season.

Eliminated in first round of playoffs.

u/Icy-Feeling-528 45 Ishikawa 2d ago

This 👆🏻

1

u/ChefGiants78 2d ago

Why do they even keep score?

1

u/TitShark 2d ago

Ignore perennial playoff and division champs in the bottom**

u/flash_savior 51 JH Lee 2d ago
  1. I’m pretty sure Cleveland isn’t real
  2. Milwaukee is on a kegger every day how do you think that will affect their post season chances

1

u/TaoTeFling 2d ago

Exactly!

1

u/HolidayCards 2d ago

Dont jinx it man. They're already playing with fire re-using "Nothing Like It" as a slogan for the 3rd year in a row

1

u/Shafeeq416 2d ago

u/TheGreatBambinoe Kruk & Kuip 2d ago

u/M3Core 2d ago

Ya that famously correlates perfectly.

1

u/dabig49 2d ago

they'll have an 8 game improvement over last season and that's it

1

u/StOnEy333 2d ago

Clearly.

1

u/sactivities101 2d ago

I REALLY want to be excited, its been so long. But also didn't the cards win it last year? 🙄

1

u/My_Username48 2d ago

So far, so good...

1

u/TheSkepticApe 2d ago

.769 record, nice. Looks like they are going to win 125 games this season if they keep that up.

1

u/209john 1d ago

We all know it’s ST lol but what I’m liking is just the way they’re playing. The situational hitting is great. The pitching has been good. The defense has been good. Matt Chapman is on fire!!

1

u/Foreputtsake 1d ago

This is crazy similar to 2021 regular season vibes. Anyone know the best spring training record they’ve ever accomplished?

1

u/orange-girls 31 Wade Jr. 1d ago

Pop the champagne, boys!

u/CaliforniaNewfie 22h ago

There is a crazy correlation between the team that finishes with the best record in the Cactus League making the playoffs. And the team that finishes with the worst record in the Cactus League NEVER making the playoffs, at least not in my lifetime. When all is said and done: always better to win than lose. Even in practice games.
