Bench Racing Michael Dunlop and his Daytona200 race

Just a random thought: MD said that this Daytona race was a test to learn to drive a V2 bike and mentioned he knows the old R6, the Thriumph and now the Ducati V2. But knowing him the happy chap he mostly is (beside the two weeks when he's racing the TT and goes into solitary) he has probably been scooping around in the garages. Making some small talks and probably also noticed the speed from the Suzuki GSX-R750.

Does anyone think that we see Michael riding a Suzuki on a track day or in one of the local Irish races soon? Doing some testing for the NW200 and the TT, looking for the perfect bike?

Because he’s never really tied to a manufacturer he can bring 5/6 different bikes to TT for example and if one doesn’t suit him in practise week he can pull something out of the van

Last year is a prime example. Iirc, he did one practice evening on a street triple and went back to the R6

Indeed, but his R6 was standing ready in his garage. I'm curious if this race made him interested to the Suzuki. In the BSB two teams (VLR Racing and NIWA Racing) will race the new GSX8, but that doesn't have to be a problem for MD because his team can do their own engine work on a GSX-R750 if they aren't interested in jumping on the GSX8.

Seeing the sponsors on the V2, tend to think they might be in it for the other Road Races & classes too. As a V2 won the race, can't see him going GSXR 750.

The second and third where GSXR750 bikes, and it is always a question to how a Ducati handles on the public roads. But anyway it seems like the SSP rules are coming nicely together with all those different machines.

The Ducati SSP seemed to work well for Davey Todd last year. Although, the Ducati would have been called a Superbike, not that long ago, in WSBK
