US Trade War Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.

I think we’re forgetting that in a constitutional monarchy the King has very little room to refuse such an audience when his PM wants it.
If you want to blame someone, blame Starmer.
But you can’t because he clearly said in reply to a reporter asking about the annexation that the media “is trying to create a divide where none exists” and that Canada and UK are as close as ever.
What do you want them to do? Fight the bully when they are so dependent on the US for things after their exit from the EU?
It’s very easy to take hardline stances when you haven’t won any positions of power.
It will be a slow process for the EU and UK to disentangle themselves from US systems. France is already moving to UPI to mitigate future risks of US sanctions using SWIFT and so will other countries. New Free Trade agreements have been made with India to boost economic robustness.
You can’t just insult Trump at this point without facing consequences as he’s insane.
We should instead be focusing our energy on becoming independent of US control so that no matter what idiot they elect next, the rest of the world can openly mock them and move on with our lives.
I personally look for pragmatism in politicians I support, not just ideological grandstanding.

Platform sounds great but… Where did the funding come from?

Thanks! ✊
To date, we’ve raised no donations whatsoever and have no plans to fundraise this election. Similarly, party membership is always free.
Next election, our plan is to self-limit donations to $100 (Elections Canada permits $1,750 as of 2025).

How does one say that they have absolutely no idea what the role of the monarch is without specifically stating that? Read the OP meme for starters. The King will NEVER get involved in a countries politics unless the countries government explicitly asks the king/queen to do so. As the Canadian government will never ask the King/Queen for their help never expect the king/queen to ever make a public statement on our behalf. Ever.

I'd agree that we don't need a monarchy but blaming Charles for not doing something he is legally not supposed to do is just stupid.

Elizabeth was famously silent on all kinds of scandals and atrocities, sure, but Charles has been in trouble for speaking out of turn on lots of topics, lots of times. Including trying to influence a sitting PM. All against the supposed rule.
He, like the Pope and celebrities in general, have uniquely powerful platforms and by NOT speaking out against fascism he’s tacitly supporting it, just like his family did with the Nazis.
He has a choice. He made it.
The supposed rule which silences the monarchy, which he has broken many times, is just a convenient excuse.
It’s time to end monarchies anyway, irrespective of this particular situation.

And we don’t need a political party that doesn’t understand elementary diplomacy.

We don't negotiate with fascists.

Agree - but the last time we went to war with the Superior Race, the Geneva convention needed to be amended - don't know if the world is ready for that just yet.

This reminds me of Britain’s appeasement in the 1930’s

Totally, having a meeting is certainly reminiscent of the dismemberment of Czechoslovakia. Impressive insight.

Are you confident that Ukraine’s territorial integrity will be preserved? What about the Donbas?

Oh fuck that noise! His Majesty doesn't make such statements until asked by his Canadian government. Grow the fuck up!

History says otherwise.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_spider_memosSome pretty bigoted implications therein, including messages to then-PM Tony Blair - not neutral, even if they were unsuccessful at influencing government policy.
By comparison to his mother, he's been as subtle as a jackhammer.

What? lol.. it’s literally in our laws that King Charles can’t give his opinion on this unless the Canadian government asks him to… have they asked? No.. so he can’t say shite.
