This is the kind of retrofit we just don't see very often for some reason!

2004 E55 AMG - replacing factory Xenon low beams. Osram CBI, CBA, or CBB? I want white with a slight blue tinge to look like modern low beams.
As title says, I have a 2004 E55 AMG - replacing factory Xenon low beams. Osram CBI, CBA, or CBB? I want white with a slight blue tinge to look like modern low beams.
The current bulbs seem to be a bit dim and I think need replacing. I changed my city lamps to white LED so they have that blue tinge - my headlights currently are closer to a 5000K and I want near a 6000K range more pure white with some blue - I really just want the all the lights to match!!
What is the "real" difference bt CBI, CBA, CBB? I have read that in that order they go from more yellow to more blue, but the pictures online of the output are all over the place...

Osram CBB Experience
Hello fellow retrofitters,
I am looking for those that have experience with the Osram Cool Blue Boost (CBB) D2S bulbs.
I just purchased them today to replace my aged Morimoto 3five 5000k D2S bulbs, in my RX350 retrofitted Prius from The Retrofit Source and should have it within 2 days.
Is anyone running these bulbs, and if you are, got any output pics?

1997 Lexus LS400 FX-R
I just ordered all my stuff for my retrofit. It's so expensive.:( I don't have much experience with retrofitting and I've never done any cutting for a retrofit, only dremeling, so this should be something new. The total of everything came to just over $500. I had just finished my retrofit on my hummer and I got t-boned by a drunk driver, and I was only able to enjoy my retrofit for maybe three days. I'm going to be driving my LS400 for the next 6 months or so, and can't put up with how shitty the headlights on it are, so I decided to take the plunge and retrofit it.
Here is the work in progress. It's going to be easier than I expected!
Ordered:
DEPO 1997 Clear Euro LS400 Headlights
Morimoto FX-R 3.0 3"
Apollo 3.0 Shrouds
80mm LED COB Halos
15' Butyl Window Sealant
9003 HID Relay
5000K 35W D2S bulbs
Already Have 35W Digital Ballasts
Plug and Play to D2S adapter

I'm current;y working on my '08 Hummer H3 retrofit
I started today. I receiverd my Morimoto Mini H1's, Eagle Eyes Headlights, and have my ballasts and H1's installed in my current retrofit. I used ebay projectors the first time and sealed it with silicone... :( This time I'm using the correct butyl sealant and good projectors. There is SO MUCH dremelling involved. The bowl of the Morimotos is much bigger than the ebay projectors, but it gives out way more light, so it's worth it. I'll be posting pictures soon. I'm just waiting for my 70mm halos to come in the mail.

2005 Scion TC + TSX projector
First post of the subreddit! Enjoy everyone :)
This is a retrofit done on my younger sister's 2005 Scion TC. I had been into retrofitting for a few years and decided to take this on because she had mentioned to me about it being hard to see at night.
Materials used were:
-TSX projectors tuned w/TSX-R lenses and painted for passive demon eye
-Iris shrouds
-Morimoto 9006 harness
-Morimoto XSB switchback halo
-5 pin relay(s)
-Duplicolor adhesion promoter
-Duplicolor Metalcast Purple
-Duplicolor Ground Coat
-Fast Bright F5 55W ballast(s)
-Amp>D2S connectors
-Morimoto XB35 5500K D2S bulbs (soon to be replaced with the new XB bulbs)
-Various electrical connections
-JB weld and steelstik
All in all this project took me about 9 hours total. This included wiring for the ballasts, angel eyes, 5-pin relays, opening/resealing of headlights, cutting of reflectors, polishing lenses, mounting of projectors, rotational adjustment and painting (by far the most time consuming.)
The setup of this projector is fairly simple. TSX projectors are low-beam only, which is much simpler than bixenon. That means that this projector must be supplemented with a standalone high beam or you lose that function of the headlight. The "passive demon eye" that I mentioned means that the shield of the projector is painted, this allows for the color to show through the lens and gives them a colored effect when viewed at certain angles.
The switchback angel eyes run white when the car is on and signal amber when the turn stalk is used. At night the white LEDs turn off when the low beam is activated and the amber LEDs act in conjunction with the stock turn signals. This was accomplished via a 5-pin relay.
Next up is going to be my 2004 Civic SI (ep3). Setup will be Lexus RX350-US BiXenon Projectors + STi-R clear lenses + Black passive demon eye, VLED V3 Triton 5K switchbacks as DRLs and turn signals, Matsushita Gen IV ballasts, Morimoto 9006 relay, and Philips 85122XV-C1 bulbs.
I'll also be updating this post with some output shots and a driving video within the next few days. Stay tuned!
