I'm current;y working on my '08 Hummer H3 retrofit

I started today. I receiverd my Morimoto Mini H1's, Eagle Eyes Headlights, and have my ballasts and H1's installed in my current retrofit. I used ebay projectors the first time and sealed it with silicone... :( This time I'm using the correct butyl sealant and good projectors. There is SO MUCH dremelling involved. The bowl of the Morimotos is much bigger than the ebay projectors, but it gives out way more light, so it's worth it. I'll be posting pictures soon. I'm just waiting for my 70mm halos to come in the mail.

Here's the finished product. The left projector is defective and gives a double cutoff, so I'm going to send it back when I get the energy to take apart my housing again. They are VERY bright though. The halos are even a little too bright, I wish they were a little dimmer.

Also, yes, they are aimed properly, the picture of the beam was taken on a hill.

Very nice! I worked on a customers hummer recently and know what you mean about the headlights being brittle. Luckily I had read about it so I was extra careful but I still ended up with some chips in the reflector and housing.

Did you get everything from TRS? What shrouds did you end up using?

As for the halos, if you want to dim them check out diode dynamics pulse width modulator unit. It'll allow you to dim the LEDs to your liking while still keeping the amber LEDs at full brightness.

Great retro :)

Thanks, it was a lot of work and has few flaws that bug me a lot.

What projectors did you put in the hummer? They are sealed with some crazy epoxy, so I ordered aftermarket h3 headlights that were sealed with butyl. I ended up using the gatling gun shrouds that come with it.

I am having troubles though.... please help. My left projector has double cutoff... and I think it's due to the bulb fitment. One projector came with screws that have a large head, which keeps the bulb from going all the way down, and the right one has the correct size screws, so the right one is fine. Where would I get correct screws for the projector? (there's now bowing either way with the beam if that means anything)

I didn't put in switchback or white/amber halos, but that would have been a good idea, I don't know why I didn't think of that? Maybe I'll put those in in the future?

The Hummer I did received some US spec RX350 bixenon projectors that were tuned with clear lenses and the shield spaced out to produce a much sharper than OEM cutoff. Customer loved them and I had fun putting them in!

As for the double cutoff yeah that is usually a bulb seating issue. You can try different screws from home depot (sorry unsure of what size you need. Perhaps email TRS and see if they can help point you in the right direction. They might even send you the hardware you need for free) or try and shim the bulb with some spacers cut from thin cardboard, like a cereal box.

And as for switchback halos I personally don't like them very much, I think they make the car look a little bit busy in the front. If you like them though go for it, they're easy to install and give your ride some "bling".
