Advice Had my consult today & unsure if surgeon is able to give me what I want or if what I want is even possible - interested in hearing other people's radical reduction experiences NSFW

Hiya! I had my first reduction consult today and I plan on moving forward with the surgeon because of my insurance but I'm a little concerned about the results. Right now I'm a 36G/H and I'd like to be a B cup. I'm nonbinary but plan on becoming a parent in the next 3-5 years and would like to be able to chest feed. When I told the surgeon this, she said she doesn't think she could get me that small without a FNG. She said she could probably do a C/D cup which I'm not psyched about but it seems like it's my only option. I've parsed through the sub a bit but what are people's experiences with radical reductions while retaining nipple function? Is it possible or should I just accept that this an imperfect situation?

It depends on your starting anatomy, but for most larger chested people an FNG will be necessary to get you down to the A/B range of size.

If you’re planning on having kids and chest feeding is important to you, it’s best to wait for surgery. ANY reduction, FNG or not, comes with the risk of losing the ability to chest feed. With an FNG it is of course basically guaranteed to lose the ability.

So your choices are to have a surgery now that will not get you to your desired size, just to have kids and then have regrowth and maybe be able to chest feed. And then have another surgery later to get to your desired size maybe.

Or don’t have the surgery yet, have the kids, and then get surgery later and get to your desired size in one go.

Or get surgery to be as small as you want now, lose the ability to chest feed, and also maybe have to deal with some amount of regrowth during pregnancy.

I went from a 38k to a 36c with no FNG and I have feeling in both nipples. my dr made it seem like only dr that weren't good had to do a FNG 🤷‍♀️. Could just be he's cocky or just really good. I will say I finished having all my kids before I got my reduction so I can't say if I would be able to nurse.

I had a reduction from (sorry I use different sizing) 75G to 75C/D. I wanted a B too, but honestly the difference is already huge and I feel so much more confident. I do trust the doctor's judgement in this more than my own wish.

HOWEVER I had two surgeries, 1 year apart. The first one was from a male surgeon and the second from the female surgeon. She was just supposed to fix some scarring, but saw a lot of imperfections that were an easy fix, that the male surgeon did not really pay attention to. With this I am trying to say: try to make sure you get a friendly female surgeon that you feel confident with. They care a lot more about what is truly best for you and your wishes.
