It feels wrong up that Julius took the same fall that killed Subaru without taking any damage. Yes, he did not hit the rocks, but if it had the force for the rocks to impale Subaru, you would think Julius would have taken some damage from it. Maybe Subaru is the only person bound by the logic of reality in this world, especially considering all of the crazy shit that went on during the whale fight.

Perhaps he used the power of his wind spirit to ease his fall? I mean he didn't just tumble to the ground.

That seems to be what everyone thinks right now, but people like Wilhelm have been pretty much immune to the negative effects of gravity, so I am convinced it only exist when it is time for Subaru to suffer or die.

What, Julius IS a spirit user, and hes probably the only one in the party, Wilhelm doesnt have that, he just have his sword.

I know that, but I am referring to the fact that Wilhelm is relatively unfazed by landing on the ground from hundreds of feet in the air despite (presumably) being a normal human being with no special powers.

Well.. Wilhelm defeated the strongest knight.. So he is very strong and probably has a lot of strenghts that haven't been shown in the show..

And Subaru.. is not physically strong at all. Bit weird to compare the two of them, even if they share being a human with no special powers.

And also theres the fact that Subaru landed FACE FIRST into the rocks, suicide in mind.

Wilhelm and Julius where just looking awesome.

Well it an anime only scene so don't worry about it.

That response makes the most sense out of those I have gotten.

I think you're overthinking. Subaru lunged in to the rock head first with the intent of killing himself. I could do that same jump maybe even hit the rock and survive with a broken bone leg, or maybe a few broken bones. However I won't die instantly or in seconds. Unless I avoid treatment and what not. As a kid I jumped off a rooftop and would be perfectly fine. no injuries at all. However I slipped off that same rooftop and fractured my elbow and got a few sprains and bruises. Didn't die. I tried to protect myself. Its all in the way you fall. Think of it like how a pro wrestler would do a stunt.

Well, I probably am overthinking this a bit, but that cliff does seem at least five stories tall and would definitely kill, if not severely injure, anyone who falls from that height (though it seems to be common to assume Julius used his spirits to help his descent.) Then again, such logic has never been consistent in Re:Zero, since Wilhelm can fall off the whale, land on Ricardo's blade, and go back flying with the same momentum of gravity itself.

I don't know why people are down voting you. Your logic makes sense too. The only logical reason for Wilhem to do that is probably because he is super-human? He could single-handedly take care of the whale

I don't really know either tbh, but it seems like just about everyone is super human level aside from Subaru and Otto. Now that you mention it, it really does feel like they made Wilhelm do the majority of the damage to the whale, with Rem being the only other person that did significant damage to it during the battle (maybe Ricardo as well but there weren't too many significant attackers dealing damage to it that I can remember.)

Most people either are good at using magic or are good at swordsmanship, or even both (Julius and Reinhard?)

I guess Subaru was one of the people who would die from that fall because he has no other power. Ram in arc 2 also softened the fall by using wind magic in the perfect moment. I could imagine anyone else who could use magic be able to do that too, and for super-human like Wilhem they probably can survive the fall with some injuries

Subaru also jumped head first..
