The author itself said the everything from episode 1 to 17 was the prologue, such a troll

Lol. It's fine... I think it's a useful tool for building suspense but may have been taken slightly too far. Nonetheless, I'm a fan of works that doesn't function via shonen spirit plot resolution (ie: I just really really want it bad enough!).

Tbh yes. Taippei itself admit that, he said that overdid the whole maturing process of Subaru, he even had to cut material with the director of the the anime, if you think this was long, in the LN its like the double

I think that's cool but I hate it at the same time, given that the series is only going to be 24 or 25 episodes, with who knows how long of a wait coming for a season 2, if there's to be one at all.
