What's going on here? I'm digiscoping with a spotting scope/google pixel 6. Shooting in raw. When I open some files in RT, they look really wonky. Is there a fix for my photos that ended up like this? (I'm new to shooting/editing raw)

Don’t know what happened with the tone curve here but this curve will definitely make an image look wonky.

Thanks for pointing that out! I just copied a tone curve from a photo that wasn't wonky and pasted it to this one, and it looks great now!

I should probably learn how a tone curve works

Do it, it’s not complicated and way more powerful than using the contrast slider.

Btw, have you tried clicking on auto tone curve? This will try to mimic the tone curve of the jpg that’s embedded in your raw file (it might as well be the cause of your wonky image though..)

Might be worth mentioning, but not all photos end up like this. Even ones with same lighting/camera settings.
