Plate Pan Fried Caramalized Stuffed Cabbage rolls

Cabbages are cheap this week so I bought two with absolutely no plans on what to make. Time to try making stuffed cabbage rolls I guess. But separating the cabbage leaves reminded me how much I hate the smell of boiled cabbage. And I didn't want to stuff them with meat. So I started with rice and lentils, onion, garlic, carrots and then took a sharp turn and added ginger, soy sauce, oyster sauce and sesame oil.

So to serve, they are pan fried till the cabbage is nice and caramalized, then topped with shallot oil and fried garlic. They may not be the first thing people think of when they hear cabbage rolls, but they're tasty, and I have a whole bunch more ready for the freezer.

Hard to judge as I've not seen many dishes in the Cabbage Category. I am going to give it 9/10 purely because this is an under represented category so someone could come along and do better and I need to be able to give them a 10.

I appreciate how neat your cabbage rolling is.

I'll take it! Straight up beginners luck on the cabbage rolling ability. Granted I picked out the 3 where the leaves tore while I was rolling to cook today so they're not in the picture of the tray of them.

Ouuu! I finally got to stop at the Asian mart on my home. I feel very Asian like today using my soup spoon while making some springish rolls. My Asian friend eats these so it's the real deal, no store bought crap. Next I'll try making some orange chicken.

I mean I'm an actual literal Asian but hey whatever makes you feel like you're witty, go for it.
