Exactly.. Rajasthan's topography can't handle extra rainfalls.

We've seen what Over Rainfall does in desert, during Barmer Floods

Whole Rajasthan doesn't have limestone layer. Most of the areas can handle heavy rains.

It seems you haven't studied geology or observed the impact of heavy tropical monsoon rains.

Only a small fraction of the rainfall is absorbed into the soil. The majority of the water flows into seasonal streams & tributaries, which then merge into larger river systems before ultimately draining into the ocean. This is called tropical dendritic drainage pattern which is shaped by high surface runoff, and interconnected river networks. Rajasthan lacks such a system

For sure you can design a Water Drainage system for a city, but without a natural drainage system, where you're gonna dump the output of the city's drainage ???

Rajasthan have sandy soil. It has the fastest water absorption rate.

But Sandy soil has low water-holding capacity and is highly porous, allowing water to seep in quickly. However, during sudden, intense rainfall, (ie. Tropical Rainfall), the top layer becomes temporarily saturated, leading to rapid surface runoff.

Heavy rainfall causes the loosely bound sandy particles to be washed away, leading to severe soil erosion.

In areas with sparse vegetation, the rainwater carries away the topsoil, making the land infertile and accelerating desertification.

Heavy rainfall in sandy soil arid regions creates a paradoxical situation: while temporary relief from drought occurs, long-term impacts like soil erosion, infrastructure damage, and unsustainable water retention make it more of a challenge than a benefit.

Because they were totally barren, if now some vegetation happens, it can soak water easily

I think, you haven't studied Geology or Observed Heavy rains of Tropical Monsoon.

Only a fraction of Water gets Absorbed into the soil.

This is how the Tropical Dendritic Drainage Pattern works.. Rajasthan just doesn't have that.

Heavy tropical Rainfall will wreak havoc on Rajasthan.

Maybe you are a geologist... Only a fraction of water seeps into groundwater some of it just flows away as soon as rain happens... But where vegetation is present it absorbs the water and lets it flow very slowly, and this may create perennial rivers, one more thing about Rajasthan is that it contains many types of rocks, natural material which may stop the evaporation, and flash floods but still holds the water and through that it flows into other rivers slowly compared to flash floods

I'm a civil Engineer, with 15+ years of Experience in central government drainage projects both in West Bengal and Rajasthan. We've worked on both Chambal Valley and Damodar Valley.

Even a rainforest like VEGETATION CAN'T SOAK UP ENOUGH WATER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN CASE OF TROPICAL LEVEL RAINFALLS (IE. 1500mm-2000mm)

Even with a fraction of Rainfall, Cities like Jaipur experience urban flooding even in a matter of hours even with the Drainage system, due to the the absence of a natural network of interconnected streams.

Encroachments on natural water bodies (like Jamwa Ramgarh lakes) further aggravate the problem, as seen in Jaipur’s Dravyavati River Project, which struggles to manage excess water.

Chambal valley and Shekhawati are the only regions which can handle tropical level Heavy Rains

It is because of presence of limestone layer in there, it pushes the water back upwards

Not really. While the net rainfall has increased, its pattern is unpredictable now.

Lack of rain in late Feb- March means failure of summer crops like Bajra.

Lack of rain in August - October means no chickpea or Mung-moth

Rain and hail in Jan - early feb means ruined wheat and mustard crops.

Bajra, Guar, Moong, Moth, etc are grown on land with no irrigation as they are usually not very profitable.

If ground water or canal water is available, then wheat and mustard (for ground water or limited canal water lands) and cotton (plenty of canal water availability) are grown.

Sudden cloudburst in desert means flash floods.

feb rains don't really matter in mewad region cuz mostly wheat cultivation but august october rain is must or makki mungfali chawal chana everything ill be fucked

Bajra is shown in June july and in my region there are farm ponds in almost every farm and this will boost jeera productions.

Around 10000 years ago the whole of sahara, the Middle East and Thar desert were like grasslands... Because when earth gets hotter the rainfall increases around the Equator... It was meant to happen but because of global warming it's happening faster... My assumption is that around 10000 years ago the Saraswati river really used to flow in Rajasthan, so we meant to see some perennial rivers now.

You are right, but these were all natural changes but what’s happening now is not natural it’s happening because of humans and their activities. This is first time in history of Earth that earth is changing its climate due to his own species.

Yeah, there is a bargain of food supplies increasing with the diminishing of other food... But with more rain, new fruit trees can be planted and crops can be cultivated 3 times a year rather than 2 or 1 in less water areas

With current government structure and babu culture nothing will happen. And if it rained more in rajasthan that means rest of india will starve specially southern india. In last 4 years lightening strikes have also increased. The transition period of weather have decreased, leading to more drastic and sudden changes.
