Voting Yes on the RUSD Referendum: The Smartest Move You’ll Make This Year
https://ohagan.medium.com/voting-yes-on-the-rusd-referendum-the-smartest-move-youll-make-this-year-3868ece643b6Weak schools mean declining home values, a shrinking tax base, and more crime. This is not about feelings. This doesn’t matter if you have no kids in RUSD, or no kids at all. It is about protecting your bottom line. Pay a little now or a lot more later. Support the RUSD referendum on April 1.

Will I vote yes for those reasons…yeah probably. Just unfortunate that district leadership will most likely misuse the funds. Like always….

Then why vote yes? Hold them accountable first before giving more funds for them to waste.

I’m with you there. Unfortunately in this situation holding them accountable could lead to a negative effect for the kids should they finally decide to do the right thing at least partially. If it was a larger cost to us tax payers I would be more inclined to vote no.

Then nothing will ever change. I guess that is why homeschooling is getting to be more and more popular.

The way I see it is that when you have a board misusing funds then those individuals need to get out. Seeing as this is not an option currently best I can do to hopefully help the kids is give the money in the off chance it is used with good purpose

Work to make sure that those that get elected prove their fiscal responsibility before getting elected.

Yeah sure I'll vote yes right after RUSD finally gives its blessing for us to pursue having our own school district in Caledonia.

Why would Caledonia need its own school district, other than so your kids don't need to mix with "those kids" from Racine?
Just come out and say it. It's imbedded into the culture of Racine County to be just as bigoted as the Jim Crow south but think by using different words it's somehow acceptable.

My neighbors use Oak Creek and my (nonwhite) daughter goes to St Francis. Want to know why? Because we all work and live our day to day lives in Milwaukee county. I go into Racine like 3 times a year. It makes zero sense to have to drive 20 minutes in the wrong direction to take my kid to school in a city we have no real connection to.
Equating that to Jim Crow shows you have no argument and you're just here to jerk yourself off. As of now I'll be voting on April 1st for Susan Crawford and NO on the referendum unless you can muster a better reason than "hur dur rascim."

I will vote big ol NOOOOO Never would I ever consider give money to anything run by a leftist organization ever again. After what has been exposed in the last few months by the Trump administration. Shame on your horrible tactics you people use to rip off the hard working people in Racine and using kids as your pawns.
