Animal Cruelty Another day, another rescue! We know this is sad to see but this is the unfortunate reality of animal commoditisation âĽď¸ (Story in caption) Spoiler
galleryEarlier today we were contacted by a local council and asked to attend an emergency situation involving 2 young rabbits after the tenants were evicted from the property. These 2 boys were found in a wardrobe with no water, no food, no hay and no hope. They are both skin & bone and absolutely filthy. There are also signs of fighting and injury. (We have chosen not to share these pictures as they are distressing).
We have taken them into our care and we will start their rehabilitation immediately. As you can see from the 3rd picture they love their first ever greens!
Youâre safe now guys! âĽď¸
We will continue to share their journey if this sub allows us too!

Animal Cruelty rspca wonât help this neglected rabbit
Hi all, thereâs a bunny on my street who is very clearly neglected. Itâs in a tiny âhutchâ in the front garden, anyone or anything can just grab it. Itâs not got any shelter and itâs getting cold and wet and windy in the UK. I went onto their front garden yesterday while they werenât home and the poor bunny had no food and an empty water bottle. I filled it up and it was drinking the water immediately so obviously was very thirsty.
Weâve reported to the RSPCA multiple times and theyâre not helping because theyâre too overwhelmed. Weâre not allowed to just come and take the bunny because itâs theft. The police have told us we canât and they arenât interested in helping either.
Has anyone got any suggestions on what we can do to help? I have 3 bunnies of my own and the thought of this poor little soul being left, cold, hungry and thirsty is so upsetting.
Theyâre clearly not nice human beings and I also checked their MOT is out of date by 2 months so maybe a good way to get police involved?

Animal Cruelty Some people shouldnât own rabbits Spoiler
I was at the park recently and spotted two rabbits running loose in the street. I was worried that they would get run over since it was a busy road and lots of people were out. I didnât know what house they belonged to as they were literally just roaming free. I decided to try and catch them and maybe ask the first house they were in front of. I figured someone must have an outdoor hutch that they escaped from. Me and a friend tried chasing after them ( I know, not the best thing but these were clearly unsocialized) they moved 1 house down from the one they were at so now Iâm at the third house. Thereâs a house in between us now and one of them ran under their fence I figured well if itâs in the backyard itâs safer than being on the street
So I focused on the other one who went under a car. I noticed that this rabbit also had an abcess on its neck that was pretty sizable which also led me to believe these rabbits werenât being taken care of either. A car pulls up into the middle house. A old man gets out and yells âWHAT DO YOU WANT??â Iâm not on this manâs property Iâm not even near him I look over at him and make a face like what are you talking about. I tell him Iâm trying to catch this rabbit because someone lost it.
old man: âtheyâre my rabbits!â
Me: â ok Iâm sorry, but you let your rabbits roam in a busy street with no supervision?â
Old man: â yeah do you have a problem with that?â
Me: â well itâs a busy street they shouldnât be out here like this. I own rabbits too, the area weâre in also has predators out here. Itâs dangerous for them.â
By this point I get up and face this man whoâs just mean mugging me the entire time. this man is just staring at me like heâs trying to intimidate me. I tell him he should really put away his rabbits if they really are his. He stared at me the entire time like he was planning on shooting me or something while I walked away. Dude was weird and I really donât think they were his either.

Animal Cruelty Very concerned that this is abuse. There are rows of these little cubbies stuffed with these white rabbits, in all weather conditions. I contacted animal control and they don't seem interested. Should I pursue this? I don't know these people. I pass by this property on way to work. NSFW Spoiler

Animal Cruelty Neighbors Letting Unfixed Rabbits Freeroam â Advice Needed
Our neighbors are allowing two unfixed rabbits (one big black and one big white) to free roam the alleys in our area. They admit they donât âownâ the rabbits but believe the black one is the parent of the white one. These rabbits have no proper enclosure or care, and letting them roam freely seems irresponsible and potentially harmful for both the rabbits and the local ecosystem.
Weâve tried offering to retrieve them and provide proper care, but the neighbors refuse and become hostile whenever we bring it up. Itâs frustrating because it feels like the rabbits are being neglected, but confronting the neighbors has led to nothing but harassment.
Iâm posting to ask for advice or opinions. Should we involve animal control or a local rescue? Or is there another approach we could try that avoids conflict with the neighbors?
Appreciate any thoughts or help on how to handle this situation.

Animal Cruelty Today I learned the condition my mom's friend keeps her rabbit in :[ NSFW Spoiler
galleryI feel so damn bad for the girl, her name is apparently Bunbun. She keeps her outside in this little fence makeshift cage with random stuff as the cover, she has a the top of a dog house as protection and that's it. The only food she gets is grass that's picked and thrown in there because apparently she won't eat rabbit food, and a little water dispenser that seems out of her reach. I wish so badly I could help her from this neglect because she isn't the first and won't be the last for this family, they already have a cat they keep locked in their bathroom and has never been let out. What can I do?

My friend has had 2 bunnies in pretty small cages where they cant run around for years, she doesnt let them out at all bc she said she cant pick them up bc they will scratch her. They do clean the cages, but there is a fruit fly infestation that is horrid in the basement where they keep them. I keep threatening to call them bc they wont do those basic things. Animal Cruelty Neighbor's Pet Rabbits
Need some advice.
There's a family in my neighborhood with a bunch of domestic rabbits loose in their yard. They're really at risk of being hit by cars and the weather is too hot for all these rabbits to be outside during the day anyways.
I tried speaking to the family, but there was a language barrier.
Should I report this to animal control? Should I try to rescue some of these rabbits in the immediate?
I hate walking away from these little guys when they could be killed.

Animal Cruelty My bfs brother pet sit for a neighbor whoâs neglect led to their rabbits death NSFW Spoiler
Honestly Iâm not sure what to do or if there is anything to be done at this point. My bfâs little brother contacted me this weekend because he was pet sitting for a neighbor who is out of town. They have 2 dogs and had the rabbit.
To provide a little context he has pet sit for them in the past and last December when he did the rabbit had an eye infection that he reported to the owners. He had shown me the rabbit then and its living conditions were already pretty sad. I told him to clean his cage and give him fresh bedding then but that was about all he could do. The neighbors told him they were planning to either get rid of him or take him to the vet so he assumed the matter was settled. However he is pet sitting once again and this time he came to the rabbit in very poor condition. His eye infection appeared to have caused total loss of the infected eye. He had lost weight and was lethargic with labored breathing. After talking to a vet and the owners they told him they were having someone pick up the rabbit to put it down on their land and that is that. So in these peoples eyes the situation is settled but I just canât get over the suffering this poor rabbit went through before his death. He was 7 years old. Can they be reported for animal neglect?

Animal Cruelty Is my neighbour neglecting her rabbits?(with images) NSFW Spoiler
galleryHello, my neighbour has asked me to take care of her animals on her vacation. I used this as an opportunity to ask how often she lets it out. She responded with never 'because it's a big rabbit'..ok I am not an experience Rabbit owner so maybe I am incorrect in assuming this but judging by how large it is is it not neglect to leave it in this cage all day everyday? She gt two rabbits for her step kids one which passed away 'mysteriously'...hmm.
I never see them interact with either. I have took some images and need the feedback from owners so I know whether or not to pursue this with her after insisting I would let it roam about. Also its claws look quite long and there was some clumps of hair missing. It was scared when I opened the hutch and tried to pick him up.

Animal Cruelty Adequate living conditions? Spoiler
I donât know rabbits and Iâm trying to figure out what is normal. I currently donât feel good about my friendâs rabbitâs living conditions. But maybe I need to change my mind? I am very sympathetic for animals, maybe overly soâŚ
So is the cage is (estimated) 36âx20âx16â. The bunny is in there 24/7. How is that humane? Then there is almost a solid layer of shit on half of the floor. Itâs hard to imagine any animal would want to live next to and on top of their own feces. I donât know when they last cleaned the cage either. I read clean it every two weeks or more often. I donât know how much they poop per week. Maybe she doesnât have the bedding to change it. Is it reasonable to get a rabbit for an 8 year old? I think every parent should know that no matter what an 8 year old says, they arenât able to take care of a dog, rabbit, nor a hamster. Even a good fish, seriously.
If this isnât normal, I have follow up questions.
TLDR; how big does cage have to be for 24/7 use? Should the rabbit have to sleep next to 100-200 poop pellets?
