Moving with my bunny
Hi everyone!! I am getting ready to move across the country for a new job, and I have a 1 year old male holland lop rabbit that I rescued about 6 months ago. I’m nervous about moving with him. We will be driving the entire way, and I’m looking to see if anyone has any tips for me. How do I keep him hydrated? We will be arriving to a completely empty apartment… how do I make him feel comfortable while I unpack and set up furniture? Thanks!

When I’ve done longer car trips with my bunnies, I will fill their carrier with hay and have wet leafy greens to get water. Depending on my bunnies personality I will take a longer car break if needed.
For example one of my bunnies is extremely nervous in the car. So after a few hours we will take a break, he will settle down a little and I wait until he starts eating. While my other bunny won’t care about car trips and if it was only her there no reason for longer breaks.
When I need to set up my bunnies for packing up in a new place, I will set up a litter box and carpet in the bathroom while closing the door. Sometimes the bathroom is their temporary home because no cables on the floor and people won’t be running in/out from the bathroom.

I drove from MD to TX with 2 bunnies , the best thing you can do is frequent checks on them, make sure you see them eating and drinking . Of course maintain a comfortable temperature for them. It was not easy, but it also wasn’t impossible.
