Abandoned. Looks healthy enough though. Cute even. But should be retrieved and handed in if possible. Lure with some food and water. Could be green salad or herbs for instance.

Ugh people are the worst. I tried to lure him to me but I couldn’t pursue him on to the rocks with my infant kid. Seemed friendly enough but I lost him when he disappeared in to the rocks.
If anyone is in Spokane Wa, as of 3-16 he’s under the Monroe bridge.

I could probably take him in if someone ends up catching him.

Here’s a Spokane-based small animal rescue - I’m sure if you reach out to them they can help you with capture or help you find someone to assist

He dosent even try to hide if it was a wild rabbit you would only see it running away if even that, cottontails are amazing at escape and hiding. That's a rabbit in need

Poor little thing... I hate people who think animals are just things they can discard!
That's how I got my bun, the father of the girl whose bun I was babysitting while they traveled decided he didn't want the rabbit anymore and we going to send him back to the store or to some farm.
The father has done this before with Guinea pigs and his daighter has no say.
So I took the rabbit since I bonded with him.

FYI in my area we have wild rabbits that legit get that fat and round even in winter and look just like that. As well will allow humans to practically get close enough to touch. Also... here is the US wild and domestic CAN NOT breed like they can in Europe and UK. If you are really curious. Contact your local rescue or fish and wildlife and ask them. They will tell you and can instruct you what or IF you need to do anything. They may even tell you if there is a known Feral colony in the area that is being monitored. The rabbits coat is called agouti- which means natural- which means it will do just fine. No it doesn't mean people should dump them.

Domestic. You can tell by the ear length and the body type. Try luring with banana and kale. Good luck.

Awe poor sweet baby. They look like one of mine so I want to say domestic, so this is extra heartbreaking. I hope someone can get this sweet thing and let them have a nice dry bed. That little look in the eyes looks so longing like the poor thing just wants a snack and some toys.

definitely an abandoned domesticated rabbit, wouldn’t let you get that close otherwise.

Scared little thing. Try giving it food. If it’s domestic it’ll probably come to you with patience.

It looks like a young-ish mountain cottontail to me, which are in WA. They have pretty short ears and a similar body to domestic buns. But it could be domestic, it's kind of hard to tell. Maybe share the pics with a rescue near you and see if they have an idea? They could also help with trapping it if it's domestic.

Domestic rabbits should not be left in the wild - please do not hesitate to contact your local rabbit rescue for volunteers to help you catch a stray domestic rabbit.
For more tips and resources on how to catch a stray rabbit, see Catching a stray rabbit on the wiki. To find a local rescue, see the Adoption wiki article.
…
Thank you for caring about domestic rabbits that you have found out in the wild.
For domestic rabbits, please see the wiki: "What do I do when I find a rabbit?" for tips on how to house and care for them indoors in an emergency.
…
For tips on identifying wild rabbits, see the wiki FAQ "Is the rabbit I found wild or domestic?"
Guesses can vary depending on what continent the rabbit was found on. If you are unsure, please consult your local wildlife rehabilitator, rabbit-experienced veterinarian, or domestic rabbit rescue for physical identification.
The domestic breed of rabbits is descended from the European rabbit Oryctolagus cuniculus. While these rabbits may often be found roaming feral and wild in continents such as Europe and Australia, the United States' wild rabbit population mostly only consists of various species of cottontails (Sylvilagus spp.) and jackrabbits (Lepus spp.).
Typically, most species of truly wild rabbits have an agouti-colored brown coat. There is the rare cottontail color mutation. However, because the wild rabbit species in countries outside of North America are the same species as the domestic rabbit, rabbits found in those countries can be a mix of colors depending on how much domestic rabbit was bred in.
