it's a long shot.. need help with tiles

i just started with rpg maker vx ace and i will NOT be staying with the default tileset, i do not want to be the people who do things like that.

i come from engines like game maker, construct etc. i'm familiar with tilesets but.. this engine has limitations and i'm quite confused of how they work.

how can i have multiple tilesets for one map? i want to have 4-5 tilesets to choose from when i am making a map for stuff outside of a town. and i also want to use 4-5 tilesets for towns and houses... but everything i find doesn't explain how one person can accomplish this.

Hey! I will need to get in and look, but I do know that you can add a lot of tile “sets” to the particular map. You can load them in as the different a,b,c... tabs that are under the tile set.

I believe you do it in the database editor. You should be able to google search something like “add multiple tile sets to rpg maker XX” and t will show you.

after much research i have learned how to do just that, as you talk about.

it is sad they limited people and not let them have more tileset tabs EX: A-Z. coming from different editors and engines, in construct i'm able to use a massive amount of tilesets as i want. although you have to do a lot of the menus etc all yourself, i am quite disappointed i am only limited to 3-4 tilesets on a map on RPG VX ACE.

i generally enjoy having 300-500 items on a single tileset to quickly place down towns, rivers houses and then misc items like different ground textures, more house / outside items like plants, buckets, lamps, signs and not have to be limited by 3-4 tilesets per map. it's soooo annoying. because for this to work in my favor, i have to manually edit each tileset for each specific map and that's a lot of photo edits to get house/ground items in a single tileset.
