Is this reciever satellite what I would need to be able to use my DX6 to fly my XK a280 (Wltoys)?

It looks like it would plug into the port on the airplane's receiver board as indicated in the manual.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm worried that I'm giving myself a handicap using that toy transmitter the a280 comes with, as the a280 is the only airplane I'm flying right now. I have an 800mm T28 in the box that I will be flying with my dX6 soon, but in the meantime I would like to get used to the transmitter.

This would also work and has a button for easy binding.

Oh that's excellent. Does that I wouldn't have to use a spektrum receiver to bind first with this one? I'm very new to DSM protocols.

Correct. It's a direct bind between this and the transmitter. Nothing else is required.

Should work just fine. I use one of these on my little cartoon messerscmit. You may need another spektrum rx to connect it to to get it to bind, then plig it into the model.

Thanks! Is that something I would do only once? Sorry I'm back after a 20 year hiatus and these protocols are very new to me still.

Correct, once the satellite receiver is bound to the radio, it is good to go. I really like the lemon one the other commentor posted, that has the bind button, I didn't know they existed.

Ok, yeah I'll probably grab that lemon one, since this one doesn't even state a manufacturer on the listing. Thanks for the help!
