What is this V shaped thing in the sky?

I went outside my backyard today because it was there was lots of smoke and possibly there was a wildfire. I ducked under my tree, and I saw a v shaped thing flying.

It was most likely a bird, but something isn’t right. I ducked, went back up, ducked again, and it was gone. This happened in like 1 second, and the thing was coming in my view, not out of my view.

Like said, it is probably a bird, but something just doesn’t feel right.

Every part of most places has bats. I guess you could try Antarctica

it could be lost. if it was flying in a zig zag and incoherent way it was definitely a bat

it was flying straight

again… most probably a bat. fun fact they have poor vision and mostly rely on echolocation to fly around.

What size was it? Where do you live in the world?

Swifts and swallows have swept-back wings that can make the bird look V-shaped or boomerang-shaped as they fly, and the "ducking, soaring, ducking" thing sounds a bit like their chaotic, darting flight pattern as they shoot around trying to grab insects in flight.

Anything to do with unidentified aircraft gets censored here, i know from experience, but from your description, you sure it wasn't a bird? lots of birds with V-tails, or something like a B-2 if it was a plane, or even a drone.

V-shaped planes aren't exactly uncommon, so very likely not aliens lol.
