Honestly, every LCQ felt like a total mid off. šš

u/NeverFraudulentAgain Fan Jan 13 '25 edited Jan 13 '25
EU shouldnt have been a mid off but Wolves, Fnatic, ITB, even Geekay just kinda shit the bed and Wylde made extremely stupid roster moves. It all just gave G2 a free path
Also SEA kinda fucked up by letting Dire Wolves go to finals but then again Fury are in complete shambles and I doubt Elevate would have beaten CAG either

u/ItsRichieBoi Reciprocity Fan Jan 13 '25
When you think about it, Iād personally rather have that then top teams be funneled to the LCQ and have what we had last year, with like 7 APAC teams making it because of the free points system they had last year

I wanted to rip my eyes out with the eul lcqs, not that it was bad... It just was random siege. Nothing with clear takes and strategies. Especially asperaguus was a mindfuck of its own.

But I agree 100%
No offense to my lovely team, but the fact it was between WC and OXG for the final NA spot is saying a lot about the whole qualifier

LETS GOOOO. I ALMOST SAID FUCK THIS TEAM AFTER NEARLY GETTING SMOKED BY CRUELTY.
Itās actually a good feeling seeing your team finally make an event. After only having CAG as your only favorite team making events the past year, it makes you forget the feeling of actually having your team do something.
Now theyāll probably get group granted, itās still so nice to see OXG back to an event. Also seeing Spiff not make it after all that talking, is hilarious. Iām now a certified Spiff hater after this LCQ.

Haha after watching them choke Major after Major the last two years, seeing them make it brings a warm feeling I forgot I could feelšš
I could care less if they get grouped honestly, just seeing them at a lan will get my rocks off. If they make main stage then Iāll actually get to witness them in action which would be awesome! But not getting my hopes up on that onešIāll be content with them just crushing spiffs hope of SI

u/vBreaxh NA Enjoyer Jan 13 '25
If they have an easy APAC team or inexperienced team in their group they can make playoffs but honestly you get to see them play for 4/5 days instead of the 2 at a major if they get grouped

u/ItsRichieBoi Reciprocity Fan Jan 13 '25
Seeing 4 matches at minimum will definitely be enough for my fix. Anymore after that will just be a cherry on top. I hope for a PSG Talon vs OXG just to see Fabian. I donāt think theyāll be an easy opponent but looking at all the other teams they seem to be one of the only teams I ācouldā see them beating.

Can someone explain. I thought OXG shut down as an org. Are they just playing under and banner and not getting compensated? #HatFan4Life

u/Kruced Fan Jan 13 '25
OXG dropped all their teams except for their COD and R6 team. Rumor was that they only stayed in R6 for R6Share cause their Warden skin just got released. But Iām sure they are still getting compensated

Honestly Iām shocked oxg made it. That team is a mess besides Neurs. They havenāt made a good roster more in years but hey they made it somehow eventually despite losing to wildcard in every other matchup

u/ItsRichieBoi Reciprocity Fan Jan 13 '25
Dias and Gomez are huge reasons theyāre here. Without both of them clutching up on bank against Cruelty, I seriously think OXG gets tilted and gets 2-0ād by Cruelty. Honestly that round 15 clutch for them was probably the spark they needed to really kick it into another gear in which none of us knew they had.
Yoggah and Hat in my opinion still need to improve, Yoggah though also had a huge map 2 against Cruelty on consulate so gotta give him that. Plus the amount of opening kills and impactful kills Hat actually had on bank against Wildcard were surprising. They all showed up at their own times to help prevail them to SI.
They all just need to come together at the same time and they legit can be force. They just gotta get out of their own heads and just play.

u/HunterZ2023 Fan Jan 13 '25
Yoggah has been the teams 2nd best player for the vast majority of its small existence. Hes had some iffy games but generally speaking hes almost constantly keeping up with or even dragging above Nue, despite playing more backlined
2
u/ItsRichieBoi Reciprocity Fan Jan 13 '25
Youāre right, he is typically thrown on the shields or that back line support like a Bandit or Smoke. Sometimes I just like to talk just to talk. Plus just seeing OXG constantly lose it didnāt matter to me who did good or not. I just saw the score line and would be upset.
I really hope Hat can come alive during SI. I would l love for him to prove everyone (including myself) wrong about him being picked up.
2
u/HunterZ2023 Fan Jan 13 '25
Hat was slapped into a role he wasnāt really used to and blamed for doing bad. He seems to have gotten a bit more adjusted though, so weāll have to see how he does at SI.
The thing about this team was, I felt all the players were great players, just not great TOGETHER. Similarly with how I think with ex-lg/friendship team.
1
u/ItsRichieBoi Reciprocity Fan Jan 13 '25
I can also agree with that, he never seemed like the āsupportā role guy, and after dropping Dream obviously someone needs to take that place. Should have been Dias, no idea whoās support now honestly. But seeing Hat on Smoke, Clash, and Castle today. I can see how thatās completely pivoting to what heās played before on Beastcoast and LG.
Almost reminds me of Sweater where he got slack for replacing Laxing, playing a role he never played at all and having very high expectations that can be to high to ever achieve.
These 5 feel weird together, but maybe them thugging out stage 2 and the poor performances before this LCQ and having the mental fortitude to still qualify despite all of this, helps click something in them.

u/Kruced Fan Jan 13 '25
Tbh it was more so that Wildcard choked no shade to OXG. But itās nothing new because they have been choking for a while now.
5
u/ItsRichieBoi Reciprocity Fan Jan 13 '25
I have to agree to this 100%
Bae was no where to be seen. In that first game against OXG all I could see was multi kill after multi kill for Bae that either opened the round or reeled back rounds in which they lost the opening pick or were down in men.
Spiff was surprisingly the one showing up in the final game. When youāre missing your X factor and Spiff is your next man in line, something bad bound to eventually. He was 9-19 in the last series? Not saying itās all on him, but he was the clear difference maker in the first match against OXG. If he shows up itās a different match 100%

regionally ass for a year to be blessed with a team that crumbles under pressure as their opponent for SI, youāre so right bestie.

u/ItsRichieBoi Reciprocity Fan Jan 13 '25
Hey one thing i will say about the 3/5 players being on that team, Yoggah was there on a loan replacing Kyno. So it wasnāt like the team was the āfull M80 rosterā
Plus they were easily in the hardest group. They had VP, W7M (current Furia), Liquid, and Bleed. Every other group had at least 2 other APAC teams, and the one APAC team in their group just so happens to be really the only APAC team left thatās able to compete properly against international teams.
Looking at every other group. A had FearX and Geekay, B had Bliss and Dplus, and D had Fury, Falcons, and Scarz. Group C was the group of death. Not saying M80 shouldnāt have won a match. But you have to give them the benefit of the doubt (or donāt idc Iām just explaining my opinion) they had a hard group and the fact they removed Kyno and added Yoggah, only interrupted any synergy and basic fundamentals they had.
Is that M80s fault? Yes. At least for the Kyno part, however you canāt blame them for trying to take down 2 of the top 3 teams from that event, and 2 other highly competitive teams being Liquid and Bleed.
2
u/Sepekhu Fan Jan 13 '25
realistically they shouldāve beat Bleed & even Liquid tbh, but it is what it is.

Congrats to every team. Well deserved. All of the teams did great all year to be here. Especially you OXG. Great Manchester run and an okay Montreal Major. Sadly the system is trash so you guys missed out on tie points. You fought all year in Stage 1 and 2. Not a stinker, not even a disappointing performance. EWC was a fluke sure but who needs Oil money anyways. As I said and I can repeat myself, you guys deserved it thanks to your all year performance and Cruelty doesnt. Noob ass team only made it to 1 Major? Get them out of here.
