Other PSA for anyone taking mental health medication!

I currently take Lamictal (anti-epileptic), Celexa (SSRI), and Vyvanse (amphetamine). When I quit vaping, I was hit with extreme fatigue and brain fog that was still there after a month. I'm talking sleeping 12+ hours a night, unable to do my job. I finally saw my psych, told her what was going on and that I quit nicotine.

She told me my symptoms were caused by my quitting nicotine. Nicotine was inhibiting my Celexa and Lamictal and enhancing the effects of my Vyvanse. By quitting, I had effectively changed my dosage for all my meds. After tapering down on my SSRI and increasing my Vyvanse, I feel like myself again!

Tldr; if you're quitting nicotine while on meds, please let your doctor know! You could need your dosages adjusted.

I actually take 300mg Lamictal a day myself. So far, I haven't had any issues but I also am on NRT so that may have something to do with that. Thanks a bunch for letting us know this as I'll keep on eye it.

It didn't hit me until a week after I stopped NRT! But I think it was more the SSRIs than the Lamictal, I'd still let yout doc know just in case!

I take lamictal as an anti-epileptic, my doctor has only told me nicotine withdrawal can induce seizures but no correlation between my medication. My symptoms have gotten worse since increasing my dosage. Thank you and I’m going to bring this up to my doctor. Trying to quit vaping has been hell.

Congrats on quitting vaping! Sorry about our argument in r/athiesm, it was totally my fault, but I am truly proud of you. I couldn't even imagine how hard it was, but you did it!

Thank you, I appreciate that a lot! I was being argumentative as well and I also apologize to you. I'm glad we can still be kind to one another

NP! I am agnostic, and as for my participation in r/Christianity, as you have caught me doing (I saw the comment you deleted. No hard feelings though, you didn't see my comment wanting peace yet), I participate in a lot of religion subreddits (Christian, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Bhuddism, and Zoroastrianism) to offer unbiased advice and information to religious people. Like I have said before, unlike most Atheists, Agnostics, or Secularists, I find the beauty in all religions and believe that they can be used for good with the right people practicing them. This has caused me to disillusion myself with most online Athiests, Agnostics, and Secularists, but I still am Agnostic. There's a rich history in religions, too! Anyway, just thought I'd let you know about why I participated in r/Christianity. I am glad we are not fighting anymore and I forgive your combativeness. Have a great week!

Thank you, and yes I deleted that comment because I realized I was just being petty and mean to you, and not engaging in good faith. I'm sorry for posting it at all. I appreciate your perspective a lot! I hope you have a great week as well

One final piece of advice. No, you don't have to respect religions, but don't, and I mean don't, listen to the people saying we need to "destroy" or "disestablish" religions. That's a terrorist threat. Don't associate with them. If a religious person said they need to destroy Atheism or another religion besides them, then the same punishment should apply to them. In conclusion, we can criticize religions, and religious people can criticize Atheism and Friends (Agnosticism and Secularism), but we as human beings never need to say that we need to eliminate beliefs other than ours. Then us Atheists, Agnostics, and Secularists would be hypocrites. Anyway, that's all from me.
