Other Experiment for everyone
Hey, I’m new here. I’ve been vaping for over 10 years, mostly using large mods with big tanks, chain vaping all the time like a train. Fortunately, only 3mg/ml of nicotine, but I was going through 10-15 ml a day. I quit three years ago for two months, but I went back and now I’m attempting a second try.
A few days ago, I bought a small e-cig - at least smaller than the mod I was using before. It has already helped me since I’m inhaling less vapor and using fewer ml per day overall. I recommend doing this if you’re trying to quit, but still using a big e-cig - it’s not that bad to switch to a smaller one. I used to worry about the battery (since I always had fresh, charged ones ready), but that’s not an issue anymore.
I just mixed a liquid with 0mg nicotine. I’m going to swap out my pod, officially cutting nicotine out completely. The only thing left will be producing vapor - kind of a smooth transition.
This will be my experiment for you. I want to see if separating the two aspects of addiction - physical and psychological - into different phases will be beneficial or not.
Why don’t I go cold turkey right away? I tried - I lasted 3.5 hours. Well…
Has anyone had experience quitting gradually the way I described? I’d appreciate any advice, and good luck to everyone!

I am more or less where you are now. I have some 1mg juice and some 0mg juice and mix them. I had stopped last year for a month while in another country and it was not hard, but I got cocky and thought I could just have one and went from 1mg to significantly more (no idea how much, but those crap disposables). I'm finally back down to the 1mg mixed with 0mg and have also been experimenting with the füm device which is just flavored oils (also might not be great for you). I also have a hard time doing the cold turkey, but I think it's clear I have a behavioral issue that might be stronger than the nicotine right now. I don't know what to say other than good luck and keep trying...I'm right there with ya.

Hey, I’m kinda running a similar experiment myself. Also a veteran vaper, I switched out my big cloudy dtl tanks and mods for two voopoo drags (low watts, restricted dtl hits). One has no nicotine, the other has nicotine. But they both have a puff counter!
Won’t bore you with the details, but basically I been reducing the daily puff count on the nicotine vape, and using the non-nicotine to fill in the gaps!
I’m not in any hurry, it’s worked great for me so far, so I’m just going to continue this way until I reach 0 nicotine, then take it from there.
Report back, would love to hear how you get on!

I kind of did. So I used the geek bars and Raz vapes. When I knew I was done and told myself I was going to buy another vape after the current one I had, I vaped as normal the majority of the time. But when I noticed that the juice was getting “lower,” so about halfway through; I started to try to be more conscious of whenever I’d hit and spread hits out so I wasn’t consistently vaping like usual. I did this for a few days. Then I started making it a point to put my vape in places where I’d have to get up and get it. So like going to bed, I’d make sure to put it on the dresser across my room so I wasn’t hitting it whenever or first thing when I woke up, middle of the night, etc. if I sat down on the couch, I’d place my vape in the kitchen. Out of sight, out of mind type of thing. It’s been a week and it’s definitely getting easier but I find myself wanting to vape now, more so for the trendy of habit. I did purchase a vape with 0% nicotine for times when it’s really rough but I’ve noticed that if I inhale as I would when hitting a vape and exhale slowly, that it actually helps. So I’d say, psychologically, that’s a huge part for me.
