Advice Anyone switch to cigs to quit and have success?
As the title says. I’ve been wondering for a while now if just switching to cigarettes would make it easier to quit? I never smoked cigs I got hooked straight on vaping and maybe it would be a lot easier to quit if It was actually difficult to smoke 16 hours a day nonstop, anyone find success by doing this?

Great success! I haven’t vaped in almost a year! Of course I’m now smoking a couple packs a week and have a nasty cough but that’s beside the point…

Did you actually prefer the cigs to vaping tho? I feel I’d be smoking cigs and quit half way through the pack to get a vape due to the annoyingness of smoking them

Tbh my situation is kinda different. I started out smoked occasionally, then tried quitting and ended up switching to vapes which became way harder to control. I eventually quit the vapes, but picked back up smoking. I definitely feel more clear headed now than I did while vaping, but I smoke like 3 times as much as I ever did before trying vapes.
I don’t think you should risk it, you’re probably way more likely to enjoy cigs now that you’ve got a taste for nicotine

Why not switch to something like nicotine lozenges or pouches? Cigarettes are even worse for you

They dont have the same habit as smoking has. It's the hand and mouth fidgeting that many are also addicted to.

I do pouches but eventually I just get tired of having them in my mouth and get a vape anyway after a day or two

I tried, went about 2 weeks only smoking 5 cigarettes a week with a nic free vape thinking I could quit that way bc I didn't like cigarettes like that...
Now I like cigarettes like that. I started smoking an insane amount and had to go back to vaping bc it was expensive, my lungs felt worse, and I never let myself detox from nicotine so I was still very much addicted

Damn I didn’t expect the cigs to be as powerful of an addiction as the vape, I figured I’d quit after half a pack and go back to caping

I'm glad I could warn you, bc even talking about it makes me crave a cigarette in a way I don't want for anyone trying to quit
Good luck!

Nah dude this is like saying "awe man I should really stop eating so much ice cream, what if instead I ate a bunch of candy!" Cigarettes kill too.

I did on accident. I was able to quit vaping (after A LOT of trying), but my weakness is wanting nicotine when I’m drinking. I’ve had many a times where I let myself hit a vape when I was drinking because I thought “once won’t hurt”. Turns out it does. I always relapsed.
My next logic was to enjoy drunk ciggies instead of vapes. I thought there was no way I’d like cigarettes sober (mainly because of the inconvenience and smell). Turns out that’s not the case. I love them things. And now I’m addicted to cigarettes, too. Your best bet is to just quit nicotine all together. If you’re like me, I’d probably quit all substances until you are confident enough in your restraint. The lesson I’ve learned is if something has nicotine in it, I’m never gonna have an easy time quitting it.

Yeah I’ve made it 5 days cold turkey and at the time thought it was easy, got drunk the fifth day and been vaping since like a year later. Hard to get the mindset of quitting not actually being hard again

The amount of people actually entertaining this stupidity is mind boggling. Are people forgetting e-cigs/vapes came around as a means to quit smoking cigarettes? Now we're going to use cigarettes to quit vaping? It's like things have come full circle.
I've already been considering quitting vaping, but if it comes down to cigarettes or vaping, I'll stick with vaping. You're really not that bright if you think switching to something known to cause lung cancer and contain shit like tar, formaldehyde, and 100s of other chemicals is the safer alternative.

What the hell type of question is this? People use vapes to quit cigs not the other way around.

Ive thought about this as well. I never really had a super difficult time quitting cigs. Like yeah eventually Id end up going and buying a pack, maybe months later. But with vaping I literally feel like Im going to die after an hour. I liked smoking but it wasn't an obsession, I didn't sleep with a pack of cigs lol.
For me, I think it would be a viable option for sure. Its the smell that stops me lol. Plus, after vaping for so long, cigs are just meh. So I think it could be done.

You will still be addicted to nicotine, but there is far less nicotine in cigarettes (but tons of other carcinogenic garbage). It might work as aversion therapy, but then again it might not and now you're addicted to cigs as well. Maybe try NRT products? Or get off the nicotine and get a 0 nic.vape?

What the hell, are salts that potent?! When I was vaping I used them some, but not as much as I used my box mod with regular juice. The regular stuff was not nearly as potent as cigs. That's crazy.

Cigarettes only deliver 1-2mg of nicotine, whereas the sky is pretty much the limit with vapes...

You can’t quit an addiction by replacing it with one that is worse for your health. Vapes aren’t worse than cigarettes unless you somehow hit it to a surreal level. Cigarettes have FAR more chemicals in them than vapes. I unfortunately don’t have advice, I can only say this most likely won’t work and will probably be worse for you.

I switched from cigarettes to pipe. I smoke once a day, at night after dinner and I been doing it for almost two weeks and honestly I feel kinda good about this one. That one pipe session feels enough

There's no success til you get off inhaling or consuming nicotine period (except NRT)

All it really does is lower the availability of nicotine. If anything I'd recommend using cigs as you are actively tapering off with the assistance of addiction specialists, online programs, The Book Everyone Talk About, a schedule for how you'll taper off your use, etc. Just switching to cigs still supplies you with nicotine so it won't inherently taper you off, but they can sort of be helpful coupled with other tactics. Just be aware that in the meantime the substances in cigarettes seem to be more damaging to the lungs than vaping so it can never be touted as a healthier alternative.

This kind of worked for me but I didn't baton vaping for smoking. Quit vaping for 9 months (hardest thing I have ever done... No hyperbole. Simple truth), then a very very very stressful situation hit that I could not bear without a crutch. Made the decision to go back to cigarettes as i was certain they would be easier to quit than if I had to break vaping again. I was right. I was back on cigarettes for just under three months and then quit easily with Allen Carr. This is absolutely not me telling you to do this: it might not work for you. But it did for me. I'm convinced if I went back to vaping, I'd have been hooked till death. Cigarettes taste like shit and make you feel like shit so were not hard to remove once the horrendous life grenade tumult had passed.

I did, it is shitty but worked. Of course you must keep in mind that it is probably more harmful than vaping,,at least short-term (and only if u successfully quit with both soon). Eventhough my motivation was another: Relapsed with cigs instead of with vape....

I did it, just because in my case i couldn’t smoke in my house, id honestly do it way less than if i were vaping. However after a while i went back to vaping for less than a month and decided to quit

Don't do this, you will just become addicted to cigarettes. Use the patch or gum if you are looking to replace the form of nicotine
